Chiffron - There are a ton of things to love about the Graham Norton Show but I’m not sure what being “unscripted” has to do with anything. After all, ALL talk shows are completely unscripted. That is, except for when they are performing skits on the show. Naturally in all talk shows the production team does a lot of research to help the host come up with questions and in many cases I’m sure they discuss the questions with the guest ahead of time. None of this makes these shows “scripted” in any way, shape, or form however.

SLOBeachboy They're not all unscripted. Many shows have rehearsals.

@@SLOBeachboy conan fallon and a lot of other shows have rehearsals, and everything thats gonna be talked about is planned beforehand. Here there are a few points and questions that people know that are gonna be asked but a lot of the discussions or rather chats are random

The one with Meryl Streep was great as well! He is really smooth in that one.

Mark R. also said a witty, and complimentary comment to Meryl Streep as she spoke about getting older, and it was so sweet she spontaneously kissed him. Personally, Mark seems too nice to be so rude to someone, and I think at the moment he thought it, he said it before he could catch himself, and that's why he immediately apologized. No...it was meant as an insult. To say that a girl over 12 is mature enough to make him feel sexually threatened... i.e. he's not just scared of grown women but little girls who are just starting to develop.

Basically Mark was trying to make a punchline that would imply that only girls under 12 would like Josh's material but because he rushed into the joke without assessing it he missed the fact that the punchline could also imply that Josh is a paedophile. short version: he said one thing thinking it only had one meaning and then discovered that it actually has two.
