During this time mark was having trouble with tom walkindhaw who was trying to buy back his team. Mark was in all sorts of finacial trouble and was rumoured to have sold his family home during this time, to rent an apartment in toorak. This is not skaife. This is not the bloke who raced nissans 6's in the nighnties and thrashed family sedans in the naughties. As you may well can tell he is a little un easy in this interview and 42 is not an age you step out of the cockpit for good. (Lowndes as an example).He was facing a finacial strain but definitely deserved better. Long live the skaife legend!
That theory of Skaife moving into an apartment is untrue, in his autobiography he talks about rumours around his retirement and he mentions that one, which he said was completely false.
Skaife should never have got into ownership. He focussed too much on that after Project Blueprint came in and stopped HRT in its tracks. They have never won the driver's championship since in the various guises they have had.
We were robbed between 2003 -2008 of the racing legend skaife we all loved, Owning the team killed those years racing for him. Such a shame, But we enjoyed watching every race he entered because you just never knew when he would strike back.
I have a vx commodore... just cause skaife made his name in it... Holden will never die and will be here in Australia making whatever and I'm sure of it, this isn't just a car or brand, that lion and stone is part of Australian fabric that makes Australia "Australia". People may have lost their "identity" with this country but I haven't, still football, meat pies, kangaroos and holden cars till the casket drops.

great stuff kenny. stevos023 is just jealous cause there has been no big successful drivers. and even half the ford drivers who where holden drivers cant do anything.
Same as half the ford drivers drove for Holden. So bahahahaha suck on that. Same as lowndes drove for your least favourite but the best team Holden Racing team.
