Mark you are the best trumpet player performing the Star Trek theme thanks I watch it lots of times and just at the end those two last notes way out of the stratosphere bravo 🤗👏👏👏
Always wondering how it is possible to play so high without popping your eyes out and turning red and blue at the same time… only the best play like this… amazing
Fantastic Mark...You have inspired me to pick up my trumpet after 20 years of no playing, I used to compete with Ivan growing up in cornet competitions, I could never beat him, he collected gold, I got a few silvers and bronze's!! If it wasn't for the tragic event in 89 I would have joined in 90...My mum wouldn't let me join after what happened in 89....Keep up the good work!! Watching from British Columbia, Canada
@@markuptontrumpet Maybe it's just the video but it looks like your lips are very "tucked in" as opposed to pushed out like high note guys like Maynard. Seems like you wouldn't have a lot of cushion but hey you sound GREAT so I'm certainly not criticizing. If I ever start playing again (I still have a horn) I was going to try the pushed out method and see if I could make it work. Lynn Nicholson seems to favor that as well. But I also know its a lot to do with the air and not so much the lips. :)
I agree Eric, like the chimp on the maggio book. Checkout my MacArther park video there some close up shots on that although my embouchure changed slightly over the years. Ps you should take it up again!! All the best
@@markuptontrumpet Been playing guitar the last 15 years. Talk about hard. These long hair rock guys make it look easy and it is NOT. Three valves, one note at a time suddenly seems so easy!
Interesting that you brought up the embouchure as I was wondering about it also. I played trumpet from 4th grade through second year of college back in the 60s/70s. But it obviously works for Mark.
@@markuptontrumpet Sorry sir for the criticism. Perhaps you did not understand me. You have big problems with the conducting and the ending of the audio phrase. You play like a soldier. As for Eric Miyashiro, he really surpassed everyone in this particular melody. He played the tastiest of all. This version- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lsH6v908BVc.html
