Mark Barker is 639' length and 78' beam and 45' depth. Mark Barker is also equipped with Twin General Motors EMD locomotive engines(SD70AC) producing 8000hp. Also a carrying capacity of 26000gr tons.

Oh what I would do to be a crew member on the lakes right now. These guys are lucky, although they are beyond hard workers, the ability to be on the water is just so amazing!
@@eugenelangmeyer2304 right there are three departments, deck, engineering, and porters. I would love to be on the deck crew, and be able to do a watch on the bridge, paint the ship, hatch cover clamps etc… just being on the water
Any word on if new ships will be built in the near future on the lakes? Most of the freighters are getting really old now, like the Anderson. Most are from the 50’s or 60’s, older than the crews that man them. Sad how far we have let our merchant marine fleet go down!
Yes! Those old piers are remnants of the old Central Viaduct. They have been there since 1887! Streetcars used to travel the Central Viaduct crossing the Cuyahoga River.
