Thanks. I have many more videos on VHS tape that I need to archive and post. I probably have some good stuff on Beta too! Been collecting great performances since I got my first VCR in 1979!
@@tomburke1687 actually that is an L5 Wes Montgomery which is the single Pick up version of the L5 that Wes ordered and is now offered along with the CES two pick up L5. I own this model and used to have a Johnny Smith.
Since this was a live recording session, the audience had probably been instructed NOT to applause until after the last note faded. I have many recordings that I am listening to, and you hear nothing. Dead silence, especially if they record overseas in Japan or Korea. Go pick up a copy of Pat Metheney 'The Way Up" live on bluray. Recorded in Korea, and they play soa dead quiet audience untill about 4 seconds after the last note dies out. There are other examples, like Weather Report. I remember hearing an interview with Wayne Shorter, and Jaco Pastorious and they let the cat out of the bag that theis studio recordings were recorded live before a small audience, but nobody knew because the audience was dead quiet as they were after all cutting a "studio" record, but to get the sound they wanted they did it in a small club, with an audience present. (man that would have been great to see them jam live) and they recorded the rehearsals too, because sometimes the rehearsals were the ones that ended up on the record.
I hate whoopers and yellers. Gets on my nerves and ruins a gig for me. It’s just childish and idiotic. Something you don’t expect with intelligent music. Show your appreciation at the end of the tune. Clapping every solo is tedious for everyone including the musicians and it’s a silly tradition.
Hey man I find it encouraging, at least personally. Its even better when the other band members are reacting too. As for the "intelligent music" bit, you need to pull your head out of your ass.
