Until today i never heard this version of Brandys 1998 hit... only learned of it from a comment on her video that it was originally written to be a country song but by the musical fates she got it, out of curiosity i looked up a country version and found this! I miss the 90s, back then every once in a while you'd get two versions of a song and both would be great hits
This makes me miss the 90s when life was simpler and less about viruses, technology, ppl's poor attitudes, racism etc.... I have watched hundreds of hours of youtube during covid and it gives me hope for the future. By God's Grace we will all get through it as covid is again another one life's tests... We will all be better and stronger after this is over....
It's amazing how many people Brandy's music has inspired, not only inside of R&B but outside of it...It just proves how classic and timeless her music is!!!
I got to see Mark Wills tonight. He performed here in my (also his) home town tonight. The Mayor presented him a honorary plaque. Mark still sounded as good as he did back in his younger days, like exactly the same. One of the best voices in country music period! What a true talent and GREAT person.
I loved Brandy’s version and I always said that this would be a good country song then hot dog it is one! Lol it’s perfect. For the ones commenting about Mark Wills coming out with the song first. It is not a contest. Both Brandy and Mark do a beautiful rendition of this song. I did not grow up listening to country music and did not know about the song until later in life. Brandy version was on her 1998 version. Mark Wills 2000! Again not a contest 😂 His rendition is fire(really good)🔥
@@lamarques Nobody can sing this song like Mark Wills. He had one of the best voices in country music during this era. He made this song, and every other song he sang his own.
@@1980bwc no one wants to sing the song like him. No one can touch the original til this day. Anyone can take a sad song & sing it sadly. Not every one can make a sad song a vibe
I just love the haters who have to get on here and try and put someone down someone like Mark who is very talented because they are wannabe who have no life. Doesn't matter if it is his orginal song or not. Artist cover other artist music all the time. Mark has plenty of original music, he is a member of the Grand Ole Opry which many people dream to be, and very talented individual. He is an awesome person, a country boy who came from nothing and made it big.
This song is still as powerful almost 24 years later. Fantastic instrumental arrangement, great lyrics, and strong vocals by Mark Wills made this a crossover hit for him. Truly an amazing song. Love it as much today as when it was released in March 2000. ❤
Quit hating on mark...This is a wonderful song...You just keep on making great songs like this one mark....You have a lot of die hard fans....we love ya!!
Funny this is like an r&b/hip hop video having the club scene with country background music & Brandy’s version was a country/acoustic type video with r&b/country background music.
BeyondEnchantment go look at the VIDEO concept. It was definitely a fuckin Reba McIntyre/Winona Ryder set. This guy’s video looks like he’s in da club w/50 cent
Who's still listening to this song in 2024? 🤠 😎 Fun fact: this album/video came out in 2000, so it's 24 years old now, keep up the good work on country music mark wills 🤠 😎
I would like to dedicate this song to my boyfriend Mr David Brian I Love You So very much honey thank you for coming into my life in show me what true love is David Brian with Love From Alabama.
Oh, okay. Thank you so much for the immense love and support, I know you must be surprised to receive a message from me, right? I hope you don’t stop listening to my music. Well, I don’t chat often on RU-vid due to my busy schedules, we can actually talk more on Google chat. Do you have Google chat installed on your mobile phone?
Just heard this song for the first time today. I've probably listened to it 50 times today too. Incredible song. "With our God we can beat all odds" is my favorite part and it is absolutely true.
Oh my! Mark Wills is one of ma favorite artistes in the world...Radio One played his songs every Sunday and was always hooked to the station...oh soooooooooo hooked...anyone still listening to this kind of music?
Love this song and I love Mark! I remember hearing on the radio a lot more when I was a kid. What happened to him? He has to come back! He has such talent and always sings with such heart!

@@dobazajrThanks, I'll check the originals out. I checked them out and I still prefer Mark's version. Also, the "elevator" in back at one was a stationary platform and the wall moving.
I would love to hear Brandy’s vocals over this production 🤤🤤🤤 how I’m hearing it in my head would be absolutely 🔥🔥🔥 *goes searching to see if it’s already been done ✌🏾* FYI: I love this version as well ❤️❤️❤️
I love country a lot as well and rnb but I love the rnb version better in my opinion! She really changed the game with her Version and the harmonies and layering. She is also as well a musical genius! It all depends on preference! He did amazing as well!
My favorite song by Mark wills I love this song it has so much meaning I'm going through so much right now with my ex this song hits me really hard right now

Damn. Last time I watched this video, I was a week into a very difficult breakup. This was over 4 years ago and still not a day goes by that I don’t think about her. Doesn’t hurt as bad now but this song took me straight back to that day. Oddly, I feel a sense of peace. Guess I needed this today. Thanks Mark. Love your music
The only song Mark Wills has technically "covered" is "Back at One." He recorded this song before Brandy, although her version was the first to be released. As for "I Do (Cherish You)," Wills both recorded and released his version of that song before 98 Degrees.
Life is funny this song came out 2000 I was 27 and ... the lyrics to this song just happened to me 1-15-23 with a girl I was all in with (Sarah) thinking I had finally won....just to be dealt a losing hand once again....... I almost won........almost doesn’t count.. 3-27-23 7:33pm posted

He performed tonight [well last night now] in ashland, ky for our poage landing days. It was a treat. Got tons of video and got to shake his hand after the finale of "1970 something". The show was GREAT. the bouncers were nice. The last song allowed many to approach the stage and be close to him and interact. He came off the stage and shook several peoples hands. Great performer great man. Glad I went. Glad he came! Sadly he didn't sing this song though ;(
@Marine8720 It is about his girlfriend who says she cares, but always has one foot out the door looking for someone else. She picks him up by saying she cares, then breaks his heart by going out looking for someone better. Hence the name of the song almost doesn't count. Which mean you with want me or not.
