That's what we did to Archer, Norjte and Wood in Australia. Hell it's what we do to any fast bowler in Shield. Woakes and Broad did the real damage. If I was Australian, which thank God and all that is Holly I am not, I would be worried about Australia's future prospects in this series for exactly the same reasons you have highlighted. England also seems to have become accustomed to winning games that they seem to be losing. They also seem to have avoided embarrassing batting collapses when they seem to be winning over a few years. This tenaciousness results in their opponents never really being able to relax until they are all but home and hosed. Australia on the other hand play their best when they are relaxed and feel all but home and hosed after the first two days. Bazball is supposed to make the opposing team feel this way, it is one of the major benefits of it. IMO England should carry on playing this way whatever the result of this series turns out to be, because this best suits the players, especially the batsmen available to them, and this situation is unlikely to change in the future. Young players today are eyeing up an IPL contract at some time in the future not so much scoring a double during any test match. With this in mind, they want to score 4s or 6s as quickly as possible before they get a ball with their name on it. Some kind of sound defense is obviously essential or they won't even stay in their school team, but if it is there to be hit they are being trained to hit it and hit it hard. Or they are if I have anything to do with their training. My 14-year-old just got retired out, not out, for 40-odd for the 5th time in 8 innings this season on Sunday. If I blink too long I can miss his entire innings. Last time he got his 43 within 4 overs and his team got well over 200 in their allotted 20. I just watch with amazement and then enquire as to why it took him so long? I told him he should have got to 39 and then hit a 6, not a lousy 4.

You know what, this series feels like a proper fight all the way. We’ve batted like idiots in places and we’re one down from poor judgement and shot selection. But that’s SO much better than getting utterly destroyed at any point. I love that we have answers in the field and Woodie is a godsend who really deserves his moment. He’s no mug with a bat either. I’d really like to see us set up an Oval decider.

Such a shame Archer has had so many Injury problems. An attack led by Wood and Archer with Broad in there as well would be way too much for this Australian side.....If's and Buts obviously but I would have loved to see it.

3:13 Seeing that ball fly even over keepers reach, put a funny thought in my mind. Is it even possible for such ball to fly directly over the boundary and go for a six 😂 So it may be deemed as Wide + 6 then. Not possible till now, but with Bowlers like Wood, you never know.

I feel like Woakes is going under the radar here too. He's been deadly and consistent in getting the ball to swing throughout the match
