Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg speaks to CNNMoney’s Laurie Segall after the news broke this weekend that Cambridge Analytica accessed information from 50 million Facebook users without their knowledge.
You think the terms and condition are the problem 🤦🏽♀️ Na Facebook is the freaking problem. They knew this shit. They keep saying they didn’t. But CA company used facebook in 33 different countries.. his a lying wanker..
jostail He didn't get caught... Facebook knew exactly what Cambridge Analytica was doing...it was a properly aligned agreement that was within the Facebook guidelines...the media is blowing this up because it helped Trump and course that's all they care about doing..Obama did the same thing in 2012 yet no one even cares about that...his campaign's digital director went on a TED talk and openly talked about how they used a small subset of Facebook users to get the data of millions via an app.
They knew what has been happening for a long time, it is only now they are talking about this when they are caught with their pants down. What made it worse was because Mark talked about the issue many days after, aggravating the issue by many folds
@r33mote do you really think that when having a conversation with someone it is normal to constantly have your eyes fixed on theirs for a long period without breaking it even for a second? I agree that maintaining eye contact in a conversation is normal but not the way he’s doing it, he is literally staring into her soul for 10 mins straight without breaking it even once. That is not normal. And yes it would make me feel very uncomfortable
Idk. I sololy blame Cambridge Analytica. They used Facebook and lied about destroying the data. So what fb didn't make a fuss about a seemingly resolved issue. Blaming fb seems like victim blaming really. They got played.
@@DeeDee-pq3xh yes he was. The folks at Cambridge Analytica said he was right in the middle of it. Now he's CENSORING conservative posts from a lot of folks including me and I have proof. I'm filing a lawsuit.

Krypton otherwise known as Sociopathy or Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Some people have social anxiety and that's it In his case it's part and parcel of fearing being caught out as lacking empathy and humanity
Other companies manipulating and illegally obtaining Facebook info is not Facebook's fault, it's the fault of those companies. Facebook isn't responsible for everything that goes on in the world. Criminals will always be criminals. Facebook isn't responsible for the behavior of criminals...the criminals are responsible for their actions.
That was the plan from the beginning.... search the video "do you have the facebook?" It came out in like 2010 telling everyone who built the platform, the why is easy once you know who. Cuckerberg has always been a cia assett - C'mon he can barely craft a sentance but as a college kid he revolutionized social media? Nope
Asznee 99 They all did -- Twitter Facebook Google and You Tube . They are the private sector , pretty sure they weren't thinking Democracy over Profit when they sold us out . .
You bloody can. It’s his business, he is to be held accountable for any breach. In this video he’s telling you the measures they are going to do, things they should have done a LONG time ago. Unfortunately this is not an isolated case, there are literally hundreds of analytic companies doing the same thing to hundreds of thousands of private individuals. These companies share data, so facebooks 50 million estimate needs to be multiplied by many more. This is the tip of a very large iceberg, and we need to fight back. This mans words fall unbelievably short to the gravity of the situation. Wake up.
Bull, they are ultimately responsible for everything that happens in the company. Warnings were also ignored by the executives when security staff brought several things like this to their attention.
Nick Brown This wasn't a breach. People accepted the ToS that Facebook (or virtually every other internet entity), would be offering to sell information. People accepted the agreement when they took that cambridge analytica survey, that they would be taking their information and the information they can see from their friends. The only part of this that caused a big fuss was how cambridge analytica then used that information. This is how free websites make their money. Facebook, twitter, instagram, google (who owns youtube and a ton of other things), you need to realise that when you accept ToS, you're agreeing to this.
People are scared of something they really shouldn't be of, yes, the government does tend to watch us, but if you don't do anything illegal, you're completely fine, and the government probably couldn't care less what you did, if you're not a criminal.
This guy is full of b.s. He knew it was happening and did nothing, now that they have got caught he wants to act like he was not aware of the extent of which they were harvesting our info. This should be the beginning of the end for Facebook.
He played every one out. You know he was selling information to anyone that will pay for it. Come he did this 5 years ago and he did it again but this he got caught.
As someone who has always avoided Facebook, watching it's effect on my family is like witnessing an alien invasion or something. It's a highly effective brainwashing tool.
The fact that you all are excusing his geekiness is just mind boggling.. he is the CEO of a 500 Billion dollar company.. what kind? A fucking social network meaning he has to socialize even if it's with other geeks.. he is showing no facial expressions trying sit up straight like a silver back not even answering the questions directly
because both of them know everyone will have forgotten about this breech of data six weeks from now, probably sooner. Most people don't give a shit about FB or Mark Zuckerberg.
Tysons Accosta You can not not give shit about FB, that is pure ignorance. You may despise it and hate it but you cant ignore a 100b worth wallstreet darling
Jay K www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-the-obama-campaign-won-the-race-for-voter-data/2013/07/28/ad32c7b4-ee4e-11e2-a1f9-ea873b7e0424_story.html?.a3ac3b4ead4f
Idk how you came to that conclusion from this interview, but I found him to be quite sincere given the absolutely tough situation some apps and ads and bot accounts put his company in. They seem to be doing what they need to be doing.
I sent untrue statements to a friend about fishing and fishing rods, said I want to buy it. I get mostly tech ads on fb. 2 weeks later i get automatic fishing rods advertised to me on Facebook. They read your whatsapp match your mobile and advertise to you.
Malri i think he means, Facebook data extends to all information in those other services. Not to mention everything people give access to on their phones. Eg. Contacts, photos/videos etc.
Eliza Fuentes in my opinion he looked more like a robot when he was asked about his family.. his reaction is not normal .. he took a moment to process the reaction.. changed his face expression in a weird way and tried so hard to mach his face impression ...
this guy should be investigated for insider trading , he sold $500m of facebook shares in feb , you telling me he didnt know this story was coming out , he should be in jail in my opinion
weeweebaws he admitted that he knew back in 2015. I agree, he should go to jail; on top of all the other morals and ethics issues and if he is sharing information with the government.
Facebook got caught, you don't have to use it if you don't want to but if you think other social networks like instagram or twitter don't do the same, think twice.
StillRooney dude, you know Mark can see this right? He's definitely gonna Zuck you now. I'm sorry, but when The Berg gets to Zucking, there's no stopping him.
of course they do the same, and Instagram belongs to Facebook lol selling user's data is their only business model when you offer your service "for free" to users
Josh B39 "don't do the same" means what? You are not on point. It is illegal for any website to divulge your personal information without your permission. This doesn't include posts or content you upload. Name, email address, phone numbers, age etc. are confidential. Every user is also identified by a ISP which allows law enforcement to obtain your identity through your internet service provider should you engage in criminal activity like terrorist threats or harassment. That information is also available to facebook. You need to articulate what it is that you think twitter and instagram are doing that has any similarity to this present breach by facebook. It is irresponsible for you to make unsubstantiated charges or accusations that twitter and instagram are engaged in the same security breach or mishandling of user information as detailed in the Cambridge Analytica case.
His full apology goes as follows: "I'm really sorry that this happened, please continue giving me your private information so we can sell it to the highest bidder."
Yes we can move forward without facebook but I disagree the half the you said because FB is really useful to us so we need it but we can still live without it
Yeah maybe we dont need it but we already use it as a communication and we already put all our memories like pictures, video and etc. that we have shared in the few years will you just throw that all important memories we have put in fb like a trash.....if you do im sorry to hear that maybe you did not become happy while you use fb!!!~(-_-)~
Janeth Mariano I feel like we CHOOSE to need it. Yes, there are some people, myself included, that use Facebook to communicate with people we otherwise have no contact with. But we got by before, we can get by now.
The problem is the people itself, how can we be involved if we don't create one ourselves, I'm not saying facebook is good actually it's the greatest bait affecting lives. We as individual are responsible in our own action we won't be in facebook if we were not tempted to sign up, we all know the consequences when personal information is being uploaded into the internet it's always a risk, and now some people are blaming him for that, we should know better. i too are guilty cos i had FB once but one day i decided to stop it! whether it's permanently deleted or only deactivated I no longer in there for long time now and my life is so much more productive!
I'de be sorry too if my company's stock lost 50 billion on this. But seriously, he really could be. Frankly, it doesn't matter. What matter is, what is he going to do about it. That's where the real work starts and determines this guy's values.
I never have and will never trust Facebook!! I have an account because unfortunately it's the only platform people use at my school but I never shared anything about myself except my name. Try signing out for a week and you'll receive fake notifications about messages and friend request just to make you log in. Facebook doesn't give a shit about you.
Ahhh no where is the fast talking, quick witted wise ass , it’s years later and this guy is still an awkward little goon whose a ceo of one of the largest public companies in the world . Like he can’t afford to take a dale Carnegie course or something
All “news” is fake people.... Propaganda, Sensationalism, Fear Mongering, Entertainment, Brain Washing, Mass Confusion, Control through Chaos, #DIVIDEandCONQUER Those who have eyes to see - will see..... #OpenYourEyesPeople
"Bad actors" are everywhere. I have been saying for a very long time that humanity is insane and, with the aid of technology, will destroy itself much faster.
"I'm really sorry that this happened" Is not an apology. What it just happened? Like a freak accident? And you are sorry for that? How can you be sorry for something you pretend you had no control over? It makes your sorry seem more like condolences than an apology.
Jainav Madheswaran I have some money sitting should I buy Facebook stock while it's cheap I think buying stock is the best way for consumers to control the business
How does this guy sleep at night? Does he think he is making this world a better place? Come on people lets get past social media. It is destroying the human race.
