of course ct scanners been used by backyard breaks and all other group breaks THey scan and if they hit a massive card they dont open the box keep for themselves or have insiders buy in and hit the card. There should be felony charges agaist these scummmbags.
Topps Chrome Basketball is all about Wemby and Lebron autos. I tried to get a case just to flip and the Topps site was complete trash. People are buying boxes for over $400 now. I couldn't get a single box and Backyard Breaks will get 400 cases.
@@bschei I would have immediately sold the case and made at least $1000. I agree it's a trash product, but people are willing to buy it. Boxes are going for at least $400.
Of course Backyard Breaks has - remember they were being accused of rigging things and then magically a different breaker hit the National Treasures Lamelo Ball 1 of 1 logoman? And then that breaker accidentally let slip they got the box from their good buddy Backyard Breaks? So has C Blez - beyond obvious with the 4 rookie nebulas they hit, the _4 best_ rookies, *in a week.*
@@kenfresno2125 The world isn’t going to collapse. If it did, nobody is defaulting to Silver Rounds or 1 oz gold bars. This is just something that older people say because pieces of metal are easy to understand as investment vehicles. If the entire internet gets wiped and the entire world economy and social systems fail…we’d go back to a barter system or we’d get create a new fiat. Again, that isn’t going to occur. Basing an investment strategy on a possible apocalyptic moment is crazy 😂.
The thing that annoys me is topps chrome basekettball knows they will have people buying to chase wemby autos besides his bowman auto he has limited autos. Honestly I’d rather topps use the college logos like they do with bowman and just put vets in college unis and rookies and stuff vs the unlicensed
Card collecting is catered to the breakers. Retail is garbage, and quality control is garbage. I have noticed the juiced boxes breakers get are of good quality control also.
not even true, like 3 museum cases at layton all had completely jacked up topps museum legends autos. every single one of them. every single day they are sending box and wrappers to customers to try and get replacements for damaged cards.
If you want to make money on cards, you need to hit up the $1 and under boxes. You will turn $1 into $5 no problem. There have been times I have also found $20, $30, $40, and even $50 cards in dollar boxes. Best card I ever found though in a $1 box was a Shaq Metal Lunchpins insert from the late 1990s. Found it about 2 years ago and sold in on ebay at auction for $210
Amazing catch of Backyard magically calling their shot with a magical box featuring a Cade Cunningham logo man. Those guys are the David Copperfield of the hobby.
I'm not buying any Boxes or Wax until they start selling cheap CT Scanners at Wall Mart. Yah, I think you are right they let the Cat out of Bag and the Bag Boys got caught with their hands in The CT Cookie jar.
I have been asking a question for my Panini era collectors. Look at what Topps has been doing. They will try very best to CANCEL the value of high end cards of the era. I mean, maybe one will ask how? Like I am holding a Wemby prizm 1/1 and there is no RPA for Wemby. Well, what about the first game jersey of Wemby PA and logomen released in 2025? It is not a rookie year card but surely a RPA. And looking at the naratives, our hobby hero can always make the new naratives, Championship year cards are more important than rookie year. (Just like their attitute for unlicensed cards) I mean people might think it is HARD to top the top tier cards. But the recent 6 10/10 Jordan Fleer 1986 showed us how easy someone with the network can CREATE something from nothing. And what can you do, I saw many people, especially those holding a MJ 1986 rookie auto said they were ugly, but the fact speaks itself. These 6 cards will be more expensive than any other 1986 rookie MJ, for now.
BAIT & SWITCH!! They said that the photos would be from strategic angles and that you wouldn't really notice the lack of Logos. Like the Wemby card that they used to push the product! Those are some UGLY cards!!
@@sarahandbrettSCAM Hobby - an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation. Business - the purchase and sale of goods in an attempt to make a profit. I hope this helps your understanding and it is one or the other. It cannot ever be both. Flippers should realize there are much easier and reliable ways to make money but flippers are bad at business and bad people for the hobby.
GP Sports breaks (exclusively hockey) out of Canada, pulls product hits regularly. I believe he pulled all 5 Ovechkin Legendary Heights autos /5 from 2022 Stature...also, he only breaks boxes that are going down in price, and his " buy backs" ( repackaged singles) are almost entirely cards nobody is buying online..
i mean it sounds like he is just one of the only people breaking hockey continuously. it isnt common. that said i dont know anything about him or his history so its possible he gets loaded product or scans it.
@@larrydavidcs he def gets loaded product. I mean Upper Deck literally gave him The Tim Hortons chase redemption last year of a Wayne Gretzky framed auto jersey during his product preview of Tim Hortons Hockey Cards. He opened 1 box...
I get why we say cards aren't investments, but why follow up with real-estate ,stocks ect like these don't go down or people don't lose money on them and are not gambling in its own right .then he mentions crypto..all these are also down sense c19
Can someone explain this to me...Why are cards for players like Justin Herbert worth so much more than Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, etc? Will these cards just plummet in value when these players are no longer playing?
IMO you are getting manufactured scarcity creating /1 and /10 and so on. Person A pulls it. Sells it for a profit. Person B grades it and sells it for a high profit. There is a performance trigger from the player and Person C sells it for a profit. This may continue some. This forces the market high because the same thing is not happening with the Manning QB’s or Brees. Yes the price will plummet once they retire.
Noticed the same thing in baseball. Cards of prospects sometimes go for more than cards of Hall of Famers. Those unproven guys get inflated prices because of hype, everyone thinks their going to be the next HOF that wins 10 championships and forget about the actual hall of famers. Yes once everyone starts realizing those guys aren’t going to be what everyone thought they would be their card prices plummet.
It’s not an investment , real estate , stocks , bonds ,cds , gold silver etc these are investments , if anything sports cards are just another form of legalized gambling😂
Those Topps card look like Lgbq specials... Sports cards are a hobby... Nothing more ( unless ur a millionaire and you can afford to lose money)... Love you guys!!!
The card market overall will continue to decline for many years it's inevitable considering they're barely worth a fraction of what they've been selling for.
I live in the west coast and send my PSA orders to California had my order sent back to me from NJ is everyone cool with psa just sending your cards across the country with you having no knowledge of this?
In 3 months you'll be talking about CJ Stroud cards tanking when they were overpriced to begin with. It's like buying gold at its all time high. Safe investment I think not.
This hobby is an investment ONLY for me. It hasn’t been fun for me since 2019. My husband relies on my sports-card flipping to feed our children. PS I am a gay sports-card flipper
You can short term invest but long term there’s no way your going to make money, what’s happens to Brady cards if mahomes wins 3 in a row and breaks all his passing records his cards will tank it’s just gambling unless your good at speculating And flipping or grading cards
Love your guys' work and calling out "influencers," including G Wilson. I will say though, what he did for the brain-damaged kid was pretty cool. Gotta give credit when it's deserved.
@@joshw9558 you cant have any logos anywhere. due to the fact that courts are often loaded with ads and licensed IP photos, they have to use airbrushed trash and the backdrops look horrible? did you even look at the cards in the video
Definitely not buying any Chrome baseball, the price inexplicably doubled and the product got worse lol... the Fanatics guys ruined it. The Topps Chrome basketball is absolteuly ridiculus looking lmao.
What’s gonna happen with sports cards now with what’s going on in Japan, Middle East and the US economy/Stock Market? Are we headed towards a recession? I made a post on IG back in June pondering what could send us back to 2007-2008. We may find out soon…Good stuff, guys!
Oh shit 😂 the Topps Chrome Basketball has no logos just like Donruss Baseball, don’t buy these packs. Both ends of the table can’t seem to get their licensing and marketing shit together. Still looking forward to Prizm Copa America and Donruss Soccer 23-24. I do have 3 Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions coming this week, now I feel embarrassed because I ordered them from Fanatics… lol
If you buy leaf or anything else without a logo then god bless you. And I'm not a like a EVERYTHING has to be name brand guy but jesus, they could be wearing pinnies and people would buy them.
There's a little Tinkerbell!!!! Wherefore art thou been Tinkerbell?? And why did you miss out on the biggest story in the history of The hobby?? The Dallas card show theft!! Were you the ones behind it??? Or did you do something to make mommy and daddy angry and been grounded to your room? Just a little curious that's all!
Can't wait for the card and stock market to tank. I'm sitting on a bunch of money with no debt and ready to buy cheap. Did the same thing after 08 and made a killing in 20/21.
It's a nice boat to be in I'd say. I'm watching the higher grade Willie Mays market. Waiting to take advantage of those who tried to profit from the passing of a person. Good luck with your endeavors
I refuse to buy into breaks i got back into the hobby to have fun and collect players i like. I'm a lifelong O's fan so i'm reacquiring my favorite Ripken cards and buying singles of O's prospects. If i get lucky and one of them blows up like Gunner Adley and Holliday did i consider that a bonus.
Investing in sports cards is the dumbest thing ever. I learned my lesson when I started to invest heavily into Terrell Davis. He blew out his knee, and now my collection isn't worth half of what I put into them. And that was back in the late 90s prices. I learned at that moment that this is a hobby and a hobby should be enjoyed.
Topps/Fanatics has a platform to send loaded boxes to thier biggest influencer breakers. its in thier best interest to send juiced boxes to the big influencer breakers to feed the platform.
I'm just out of the game. The past two years have just gone in the wrong direction. It's too bad for young kids because they won't be able to collect the way we were
Do you really see people being nostalgic for these no-logo cards in 20 years though? Because that's the only way cards "gain value". Mickey Mantle cards didn't steadily rise to $12M. They rose very slowly and steadily and then all of the guys who grew up watching him suddenly had disposable income and the cards started 10x-ing every year. For these Wemby cards to actually appreciate you need for today's 8 year olds to both: be buying cards (they're not) and want product without the official license (they don't).
@@philcapenmsgamingsports Cards without logos and branding are never going to have big value. Just like he pointed out in the video... if Panini put out that same card you'd all say it was valueless. Wemby's first card with logos and an auto will be the one that has value. Doesn't matter what year of his career it comes out, nor what team he's on. It could come out after he retires and it will have more value than this card.
I bought a Patrick mahomes donruss optic holo bgs 9.5 in 2021 or 22 for 2k.. . All he's done since then is go back to back super bowls.. And I swear this card is still worth 2k
To counter CT technology silver foil can be used. Which is hilarious because that would mean opened packs or boxes would have more " intrinsic" value than the cardboard/chrome crap inside
I collected before covid and while I was in high school got good deals on Stephen curry rookies and more for a good deal but never bought trout and just waiting to get.
