Thank you My daughter asked me to copy an elastic bias cut polyester pant costing $200. I copied the pant on paper. ,do I follow the same rules to set the grain lines and then cut on the bias ? Thank you
This does not make any sense to me. How do you determine the correct angle when lining up the ruler with the crotch line? It's possible to line up with the crotch line and be much higher or lower on the sideseam. Although you don't say so, I assume you are making the ruler perpendicular to the hip line. However this would not be helpful at all if the hip line has been adjusted. And, if you are making it perpendicular to the hip line, why not simply use the hip line as the horizontal guide? I've watched the video 3 times and it simply is not clear to me. Thanks for trying. This is really important information!
Sorry this is unclear. The goal is to have a 45 degree angle from the hip, crotch or knee line. You can line up one or all three and use a long ruler to create a 45 degree angle (between the rulers) to draw the grainline down the pants. Hope that helps.
@@barrettscustomdesign d o you mena maybe 90 degrees? I just do not see 45 aligning with anything here and also it does not solve the issue how do you know you've positioned the 1st ruler in a straight line because the other rulers will be positioned aligned according to it but it does not mean they are positioned correctly...I appreciate it but also I was expecting to see it how to do it on the back.
