Nice dog! Happy 9th month birthday to it! Such a cozy place you have! The engine is beautiful in every way. Nice details and coloration. A double expansion, I believe.
How large is this maschiene compared to the märklin 4158? As i remember this model is a number smaller, about 35 x 35 cm or so? (Either of those has been on my dream list for many years now... ha ha)
@@SteamEngines-Jim It seem to be a very rare machine, i hawe only seen one for sale, but there was no pricetag set on it... I got the D32 Yesterday, btw! I probably payed more then i should for it, but it was in working condition and did run.
at 6:54 he turns on a little tap, and a little full bodied liquid runs out. I have always wondered what it is, and why it only is on some engines (or maybe on all engines. i dont have one yet, and only seen videos of them. maybe the recorders dont show it) also there is a bucket of water with to pipes in it, and when he starts it, water is running out of one of them. what is that?
Boiler feed pump to add water to the boiler while it is running. The pump runs continuously but the boiler only needs topping up occasionally hence the control valve. It is a common feature on model steam engines but rarely seen on toy steam engines such as Mamod, Wilesco, Jensen, etc.
@@SteamEngines-Jim I always felt the D22 was a more practical (and affordable) option for those wanting a twin cylinder, self-starting Wilesco :-) Next time you get the 16051 out can you take some pictures of the inside of the firebox? Just wondering if it has the deflector plates/baffles like the 4158 on which it is based. These concentrate the heat from the burner on the bottom of the boiler and away from the sides of the firebox.
Very nice. My 16051 has a bit of a nocking noise at lower rpm i cannot find what's causing it. The strange thing is when i turn it by hand it makes no noise and also when i shut the steam supply at full rpm the noise is also gone. Any tips, ideas? Where can i get such a nice chuff enhancer? The ones on ebay don't look half as nice. Thanks in advance.
