I received the tanker for this project from my friend Michael in Germany. It was missing a Marklin tractor unit. I chose a much younger Corgi tractor unit from the 1980s. It was Seddon Atkinson, also sold by Corgi as the Volvo Globetrotter. I decided to make a custom one that combined these two parts in Aral colors. The tank trailer was originally painted in Ara colors, so if I ever got my hands on an original Mercedes Marklin semi-trailer, I would be able to have the complete model. The Corgi truck had period-inappropriate wheels. So I made new wheels of the right size with aluminum rims. I also did some refining work, because the tractor from the 1980s was made using budget technology. Many costs were cut. I decorated the model with crystal reflectors and made a signal lamp on the roof. After finishing the project, I made a box dedicated to this model.
