Hi Helen. I did laugh about the Monica Mules episode in M&S ! I must be one of the few people on the planet that never orders online- sounds unbelievable,I know, but I still prefer to go to the shops and try things on and pay at the counter! It is getting increasingly more tricky as everyone uses their credit cards etc but it makes me sad that we deal less and less in cash transactions.I really love the silver cardigan as I believe it’s very versatile. The black top with the asymmetrical neck was a bit too clingy for my personal taste but the white linen dress was very attractive.I’m so pleased you enjoyed your weekend with your friends and you are absolutely right when you say those of us who are not disabled are truly very lucky.💖🌸
I never buy online l prefer shopping in store.l cannot be faffed with all the returns online shopping is the death of the high street.Liked the silver cardi.xx
Hi Helen, I am disabled too, my health has deteriorated over the last 10years, my walking is horrendous, I've just given up work im 60yrs but there are some people in a worse situation, lovely vlog as always ❤❤
My late husband had polio when he was 10. He had foot drop thereafter and all was fine until he hit his late 50s and started having issues. Turned out that he was dealing with post-polio syndrome and we had to query the family doctor who then proceeded to learn everything he could about it. Things change so rapidly in medicine that no one person can be expected to know everything but if they, as a practitioner, have the willingness to learn more, it makes all the difference. Glad you had a great weekend!
Sounds like you had the perfect weekend with people you love and they love you too. I have just purchased my first piece of jewellery from him and I love it. Can’t wait to see the new pieces. I also agree about the way M&S show their goods on line. I have just ordered 2 dresses and when they can they were nothing like the colours they showed on the website. Yes Helen, you are so right.... June 20 I suffered a stroke and was hospitalized for two weeks. During my stay I received intense physical therapy. Fortunately i have completely recovered, but in my therapy sessions I saw many people that will have lasting affects from their stroke. I feel very blessed and very grateful ❤❤Kathy from Pennsylvania USA 😊

Love the white dress, it'll never date. A long time friendship is a wonderful thing and an absolute treasure. I'm lucky I still have my best friend of 65 years (we met before we both started at the same school) and although she's at the other end of the country, we still keep in touch via whatever means we can. I'm just happy to wake up each day, life is a blessing.

I suffered crippling cramp in my legs and hands for years the doctor said it was too much salt or not enough I knew I was a mad salt shaker so I gave it up but the pain continued for years a friend bought me magnesium’ and the pain stopped from the first tablet and has never happened again. Also I have a cousin that caught polio at the age of 2 years she has had four lovely boys who are now men but sadly no new advances in medicine for her, I loved the silver/grey jacket ❤️❤️
I had been having awful cramp in my legs at night, my sleep was terrible but since stArting taking magnesium, the cramp has improved a lot, only occasionally get it now and sleep is better than been for ages!
I tried the Aveeno shampoo you talked about….so far so good. I have the curse too. I will look for magnesium product you are taking about, anything to help!
Loved the silver card. I think they should provide line drawings of the garments on the website like you get on sewing patterns so you can see clearly what you are buying.

I hate the models poses on the M&S website too. A particular gripe is when you look at a top or t-shirt and the model has tucked it in so you can’t see the length 🤬. And the palaver to return things now they don’t send a paper receipt with online orders. It’s the modern way I suppose but I try to order from Next over M&S for this reason x
I just said that very thing! Next is excellent. I said to the sales assistant today about it and she said "yes, I know it's terrible".... what can you say to that! haha xx
I was only thinking the other day how you getting along with the IBS and the supplement. So pleased for you. The silver cardigan is so lovely and really really suits you. Popped over to M&S website and looked at the gold which is a really lovely gold, not cheap looking. So If you can get hold of the silver and the gold I would have them both. Great pieces which will be just great for any occasion. In fact if you can't get the size you want I would still be tempted to keep the silver one and wear it open. Looks lovely on you. My dad had polio as a child and had to use crutches from age 8 to about 18. He couldn't play contact sports but was an amazing swimmer due to his powerful shoulders, he was also a great golfer playing off a handicap of 7 . Polio left him with one skinny leg and his feet were two different sizes so he walked with a small limp but to be honest I never ever thought of him as being disabled as he didn't look disabled and could do anything and was just my lovely dad. He died of a brain tumour when he was only 65 and I still miss him.

Yes its a real shock to become disabled. It happened to me during lockdown. Yoyr life does change but you have to manage it. I hadnt been in an M & S store since before then. I went last weekend when visiting daughter. It was very overwhelming & the home section i thought was poor. I gave up & sat in the shoes dept as it was the ONLY place to have a seat. I shall not go there again. Very disappointed. M& S were never ever like that - I worked for them when my kids were younger - Im now 73. I think they woukd be horrified at yours & mine experiences!
Helen I really sympathize with you over the ibs. I have suffered since in my 30s. NWhich is I’ve 40 years now. It’s so debilitating. I am definitely going try the magnesium .
Hi Helen Magnesium has good reviews but Castor oil has the same properties. Ginger is good for joints I also have the hand wash but mine is from another company. I have clementine in my bathroom as that’s anti bacterial. I had a 2 litre refill for less than what you paid for yours . have that dress in a shirt and am happy with it. Have a nice week x
I agree about the model poses etc. Sometimes there is not one photo showing the item full length. I find it is not only M&S but others. I often watch QVC and sometimes models wearing things like dresses have jackets on top, hopefully the presenter asks them to take it off, but not always. Glad you feel the magnesium tablets are doing some good. I can feel your frustration with orders not coming through for you to do the video as you want to. Thanks for showing us what you are able to.

7.25pm a lovely little haul Helen , thanks. The black top makes your waist look small..very flattering. I'm an apple shape so it wouldn't look as good. Totally appreciate what you said about disability, things we take for granted are such a challenge for some people with physical disabilities. Same can be said of mental illnesses although obviously not so visible. If you've had personal experience of you or someone close being mentally unwell at some point in life it'd be good to hear about it, if that's possible. Thanks again. ❤
Helen I’m 67 just two weeks ago and I too have started taking magnesium. I take the magnesium Bisglycinate before bed and I’m getting a much better sleep. I love the silver sweater and black top. You look very tanned. I thought the weather in England this summer has been horrid.
Your conversation about disability really resonated with me as I broke both of my ankles 6 weeks ago. I made it to 63 having never broken a bone or been held back by a disability, but boy oh boy, this has certainly made me look at life in a very different way. Thank you for talking about this 😘😘

I had the exact same thing with M&S recently re returning an order, they said they couldn’t refund even though I had only just received my order two days previously and the item didn’t suit. I had to go into my app and raise a return and then they scanned the barcode. This took me nearly 30mins to do a two min job. 😊
I did too, but the lady at my branch phoned hq and issued the refund. The items still showed as not dispatched on the app. Must be a system error. About 3 weeks later, I had an email saying it had just been dispatched. I got excited thinking I might get it for free 😂 but sadly it didn't arrive (again).

Yes magnesium over 350mg but NO MORE than 400mg is the no 1 supplement to help ease stomach cramping & ibs symptoms. It helps water to be absorbed into the gut, softening the contents & easing the other constipation symptoms. Probably one to keep taking then! Its surprising what various supplements help with other than why initially tsken. I take 6 different ones but have cut down from 9 due to the cost.
Hi Helen, loved the silver cardigan very useful to wear over an evening outfit or daytime. I have a disability I had two knee replacements one of which is very good the other one has caused me lots of problems I can’t walk as far as I used to which is very frustrating I also have septic arthritis another problem but we have to keep going and that is what I try todo. I agree 100% about the poses that the models assume. We need to see the clothes. Perhaps then we wouldn't need to return so many items. This seems to be a trend for a great many companies.
I take magnesium glycinate, I can't take magnesium citrate. I also used to have ibs and I've been diagnosed with diverticulosis. Which is like having ibs for days. Then about 3 years ago I started a new diet , which helps all sorts of people, with Crohns disease, Rheumatoid arthritis etc . Within a few months, the diverticulitis had stopped, and I haven't had a bad attack since . I also I now realise haven't had any ibs . I think you need the larger size in the cardigan, the view from the back .I agree I get so annoyed with the way they photograph clothes. The girls get into all sorts of contortions to prevent you seeing the clothes. The black top is good , and the white dress is good . A proper fabric white belt would have been nice . I don't like tie belts at all .

I’ve just returned a pair of linen blend trousers as the front top of the legs turned blotchy in the first wash. The assistant said it was sun damage from sitting in the sun. My husband never sits in the sun and when have we had enough sun in the last month anyway 🙄 The Monica Mules story 🤣

How funny about the magnesium. I have been taking it for a good while and my Crohns disease is in remission and the part that was inflamed is no longer inflamed. Makes you think doesn't it?
Oh Helen, Marks drive me nuts, my daughter orders stuff, her account is in her married name,she also has a different address and yet sometimes her orders come through in my name. I have no idea how they’ve linked her to me and neither does she. I did ask a member of staff and her answer was ‘oh that happens sometimes’ how/why, it’s very annoying. You keep making me giggle. Love the silver cardigan and I like the black top on you. How lovely for you to have old friends come to stay and be able to get out and about with them. 😊😊😊
M & S when it comes to refunding an order it is so difficult and problematic now and I worked there for 21 years. Why don’t they put normal receipts in with the order like they used to and as they do at the till point when you buy😩so annoying! I also always now use the refil M&S hand soap for my sinks as it looks and smells good I use the blue one. Thank you again for the magnesium reference I have been using it for my I.b.s as you recommended and it works for me it is a GODSEND as I had it was really bad. It must be something we are lacking which is in the magnesium who knows but it works. Dee
As you say Helen we should always remember there is always someone worse off. Getting older is actually a privilege. I suffer with IBS too and have had those mortifying moments as well. Like you I struggle to know what has triggered it sometimes. Just lately I have been so bloated and uncomfortable I might give those tablets a go. Anyway Monica I must go now and have my bath.😜
