I realize that your post is 2 years old, however - My 81 is from 1968 and has a pivoting safety that is mounted with a single screw. His rifle has a sliding safety using 2 screws. After some research I found the correct single screw listed under the Marlin Model 25.
I've got a Marlin 881. I wonder what the differences are? The wood on my stock is a darker color. My serial # shows that it was made in 1994. It's the most accurate .22 that I own.
How do you put the trigger assembly back together on this rifle?...is there an easy way to do this...that trigger spring needs to be horribly compressed with which to line up the holes in the mounting stud in order to complete the assembly...I haven't figured out how to align the parts for assembly due to the resistance of this powerful trigger spring...Any help here would be appreciated.
Great video! I just bought one of these little marlin rifles about 2 weeks ago. Naturally the first thing I did was give it a good through cleaning and oiled it well. I took it out and spent about 100 rounds through it and it began to hang up. I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out. I'm about to go utilize this golden tidbit of knowledge you just shared.. Thanks for sharing.
man I'm having a big problem with a .22 wastern auto 110m it's exactly like a marlin 881.. so my charging carrier broke and I can't find one anywhere any idea where I can get one.. another issue I'm having is that one's the shell has been fired it I'll get stuck in the barrel
gunpartscorp.com is a good place to look for parts. Also RimfireCentral.com is a forum that I have had luck finding used parts from other users. For the empty shell being stuck after being fired, would look to see if the extractor (the spring steel band on the front) is still nice and strong, and has a sharp edge to grab the shell. or the chamber could be a little out of round from being fired when empty, can have a bur. Would be right where the firing pin hits.
I took my 81TS bolt out and for some reason it won't get back in. I've pulled the trigger and pushed the bolt in but the bolt end is turned and will not go any further, its almost as if I had the totally wrong bolt altogether. I can send you pictures of what Im talking about if it makes it easier through email. Im losing my mind!
I did have to removed a barrel on an older 81 DL with a damaged guide on top mainly for 22 short. It was some time ago but I want to say it was pined in and I needed to bring it to work to use a shop press to get it out.
Tnx I got a extra Barrel and tube no in tube to feed the shells but had to but the hole thing 🙃 to get the intube feeder. Some stuck with barrel I guess good to hv extra lol
@@SpeedmanRC i can hear u fine on this video. I dink Vincent's hot spot (cell phn) or his internet carrier didn't allocate enough bandwidth for him to hear clearly. when not enough BW, voice gets chopped up get silent spots, etc. So, when datto happens, just try the video some other time
I believe my sear or trigger is broken. I tried that but it isn't working. I had to take the stock off and use a screw driver to lower the sear enough so that the bolt will come out. Also where did you buy replacement parts for your gun? My feeding assembly isn't working well also.
you take it off where you can fire the gun then Pull the trigger and dont let off the trigger and pull the bolt out but the bolt must be lifted up like you are going to load it.
What is a good way to clean rust off of the underside of this rifle? I have an old one that belonged to my dad. It sat idle for decades and when I finally got my hands back on this rifle it needs to be cleaned..... badly... it has some rust on the base.
