We are a multigenerational sailing channel with 2 boats and 1 collective dream of crossing oceans.
Meet Mick, Kate and their 2 boys Thomas and Bentley aboard Meraki a Stan Huntingford Explorer 45. An Aussie/Canadian family who dreamed of living life differently and took the leap into sailing life during COVID and have never looked back. Sailing from beautiful BC, Canada down to Mexico and then across the Pacific, through the South Pacific islands onwards to Australia and BEYOND!
You'll also get to know Kevin and Shawna (parents to Kate) aboard M2 a TransPac 49'. They've had had a lifelong dream to sail the world and are currently in the Caribbean with big plans to transit the Panama Canal very soon!
While the original goal was to be visiting anchorages together, life had different plans. With one boat being purchased in the Pacific NorthWest and the other acquired in the Caribbean we've been waiting out Hurricane season in separate Oceans.. but the reunion is going to be OH, SO, SWEET!

Omg! Missed you people! Glad you are doing well, and have found another good place to set the hook again. The onion race was probably the highlight of my day (watched twice and laugh/cried/seriously: tears of joy!) Mic you are hilarious. Kate you are so fortunate and skilled, so smart to have all the people around you and the other cruisers too. Cool m2 is there! It’s not even Thursday and I can’t wait for the next one. Went sailing again this weekend on the Columbia River. We had the boat listed all the way over. It was perfect.

A nice passage between those fabulous Pacific islands, and what a nice little grocery run you had (except for the prices!). The shallow clear water, the coral bommies, the big sharks right up at the shore. An adventure with floating the chain, but Mick says it worked out good. Glad to see family and friends still at hand.

I could almost smell the warm baguettes. I hadn't realised that atolls were so big you can't see the other side when you're in the lagoon.

Almost up to real time... feeling sad... Anyway, thought, you are in a SAILboat that requires WIND to SAIL so have you ever considered one or two WIND turbines to address your power issue? I watch several sailing channels and it seems the solar panels and wind turbines work well together. The solar on the calm sunny days and the turbines in storms, cloudy days and at night. Anyway, thank you so much for the quality content, the effort you put into shots, filming and editing is obvious, Thank You!

I’m watching the video with the vent problem. It really seems like a bad idea to vent it the way you did it.Mine vents at the highest point in the bow.any hight point would work. I put a filter on the end.And made sure any water in the tank can drain with gravity back into the tank.
