I love to flirt with my husband. When he says do you want to eat somewhere, I say are you asking me out on a date? He smiles and says of course. Married 24 years. Just one example but the point is it takes both parties to get what you want out of marriage. 💍
"Your children are birthed through you not to you." That really spoke to me; I've had many questions lately about idolizing my children; that segment helped a lot.
@D Banner Heaven will be on earth when Jesus returns. John 3:13 ( no man has seen heaven) Children are a blessing on earth, they definitely teach us love and humility.
These relationship conversations are Melissa’s Zone of Genius !! This is were you excel & We love to see it!! Side note: the audio/microphones needs adjustment, the volume has to be on high to hear specially the Kirk & Tami episode.
I can hear just fine. I just notice certain individuals talk low in general. I noticed that with Cam (Lauren and Cam). But that's just how he talks. Everyone else sounded fine. I just think they have to ask certain people to speak up.
I’m the youngest & I remember my parents complaining about my older siblings never calling when they went off to college so when I went I called them 5-7 times a week legit all 4 years 😅😅
Will be married 10 yrs this year and wish we had married friends that we could have these type of fun convos with…. Or married friends period. 😢 Loved this episode! The stories are hilarious 😂
Alex H…Wow! I can relate to your statement 💯!!! It’s hard for us to find happy married couples that we can connect with & share adult conversations. I hope you guys can find that married couple or couples that you can connect with.
Gurl. I just starting watching these and Melissa you are absolutely called to this work. I have been wanting some uncut, real life conversations about marriage because NOBODY tells you what’s real, no one is transparent and vulnerable, everybody claiming to be out here living their best life 😂 Thank you for this platform which brings about transparency in a loving and thoughtful manner. This is more than a book, the podcast needs to keep going and then after that, we need the MBH annual retreat/conferences, and then after that we need the docu-series which can be a follow up to Black Love and then we need the scripted series and movie. There I said it!! This stuff is good, I’m telling you. I’ve been Married 8 years, got three kids and am in my early 40s and ain’t nothing but truth coming through those podcast mics. It’s blessing my soul with every episode. Keep pushing and giving us this content, the culture neeeeeeeeeeeds it!
😂🤣😂🤣😂Ooooweee I hollered about them ‘Illegal House Prayers’ 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. Waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too relatable 😅😅! Warren: “My 17th birthday turned into an illegal house prayer”. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 But on a serious note! 😮 Those House House prayers 🙏🏾 tho 😅! **clears throat - for an off key rendition of “Thank you Lord For all you’ve done for me”😅**
These conversations are everything!!! They are about relationships of all kinds be hard. I love it. I'm getting my copy of the book and marriage has never even appealed to me.
We'll be married 6 years this Saturday and I laughed soo hard because I related and enjoyed this conversation soo much! I already love Erica and Warryn, but getting to know Melissa was a pleasure and I'll be back!
At first I was sad watching this like “I wish I would have found my spouse years in HS.” But then I realized it doesn’t matter the journey you take whether by yourself or with another person because the underlining theme was ‘finding yourself’. You can do that with someone or without. So that shed some good insight or what those relationships are like. Great conversation you guys!
The past 2 days I've been going back and forth between the audio book(currently on chapter 9) and these episodes...Love Love Love it all cause chile "Marriage Be Hard" Bless yall for this platform!!❤
How in THE world have I missed five months of this wonderful, hilariously funny, candid, authentic work!??? Well, I tell you what....I ain't missing nothing elsee!! I love it! Love it! L-O-V-E Ittttt!!!!
Love love love these segments!! Just made one year of marriage this year and hearing this wisdom from legends is so refreshing that we’re on the right track!
LOOOOOOVVVEE Erica's perspective on college being essential for the growth and development of our children (even when we know they're going to pursue fields in entertainment, ministry, etc. where they don't necessarily need college or that academic experience)!!
46:34 ooof I love this!! These conversations are sooo helpful and listening to ppl that share the same faith but aren’t stiff about it, aww man ya don’t understand how refreshing this is💕 in Jesus name we’re welcoming our first one in May 🙏🏽🙏🏽💕keep us in prayers pls
These conversations are Golden. Erica was speaking to me in so many areas!!! Thank you @MrsKevonStage and @KevonStage for having these conversations. They are really appreciated. ❤
I think "#GOALS" is a compliment and something that can be looked up to! I think the sentiment is good and honest, but it may be something that needs more conversation around it!!
The intent is good and of course it’s meant as a compliment but it’s too much pressure. We’re all just flawed individuals. Also people only show us what they want us to see. We can be calling a couple “goals” because of pretty pictures and good acting, but behind closed doors, they’re struggling.
I luv Melissa’s mindset during these couple conversations. She seems to hit every nail on the head so eloquently. She has a nice speaking voice and her delivery is relatable. Kev does a great job as well. Bless their friendship & their marriage🫶🏽❣️Luv’d Erica & Warren’s transparency & fun throwback family stories❣️I wish my husband and myself had positive married couples to converse with. God willing, I spoke this into existence 🙏🏾.
We had a videogames issue too in our 1-2yr in. I was prego with our first born and tired from work and hes playing games with 3 other guys. I let him live but now its time for bed and i gotta get up at 5am for work.. now its like 2am!!! And im still hearing the game, the pushing of buttons and trash talk. My prego self got up threw his pillow at him and was like " sleep with your boyfriend then" 😆 needless to say almost 16 yrs in, we dont have late night video game issues anymore lol
I would love to see the extended version cause I can tell they had to cut out some of the conversation for time. They kept trying to end but just like good friends it’s so hard to stop a good conversation.
There's such a thing as apology languages. Everybody doesn't have to be the same. Why does there have to be only right way of doing thing with billions of people on this planet? That's billions of personalities.
This was sooooo good and huh-larious!! 😅😅😅I thoroughly enjoyed this and I thank you all for the ab workout you gave with loads of laughter! I've spent almost an entire week with members of my immediate family and sadly we haven't shared any laughs together yet. Thanks for standing in to fill a void that only God knew I needed filled today👍🏾👍🏾
I like how Kevin and Melissa have these marriage couples who talked about their experience in marriage and ups and downs sincerely yours Mrs Amber Mccutchen
I could fully relate to that oldest drop off story. We dropped our daughter at Spelman in 2013 and that "Follow the drums" Ceremony wiped our whole family out. We were all crying and I mean boohooing! It was real. We're now empty nesting and that has been a tremendous adjustment as well.
Apologies be hard… I disagree. Acknowledge your faults; don’t just hold me in bed. Yes we are staying married and in our family we have to be representatives of maturity for our children. Gifts are good. Food is amazing. I want adult communication in this marriage. Choices 💕
THIS! This conversation is everything. When i think that i am alone in this.......here we are. Every marriage has it's oooooh's. This was too funny though. Lots of similar instances
I love them all... don't let the sun go down on your wrath means don't stay mad not literally that night ... so Kev Wife was actually being very wise 🙏🏽
I am really enjoying this marriage Bihar conversations. In the portion toward the end where they discussed college for their children. I would agree that it is our goal to help launch our children. I believe sending your child to college enables you to be more ready to launch them when they graduate. I think it’s God’s little gift to the parent to be ready for the next chapter. Enjoy the journey.
Just love this. Erica Campbell is the best 🥰...she has come such a long way. Met her before she was a famous singer at El Camino College...so nice. Wishing her so much love and success 🥰
