Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage: Laying a Biblical Foundation, Part 3 (Matthew 19:1-12) 

In this week's sermon, we use Proverbs 5:18-19 and Malachi 2:14:16 to inform our discussion of the following question: What does marriage contribute to the practice of human sexuality? We learn that 1) Love is the necessary prerequisite to a biblical sexuality, 2) marriage is a formalized, relational covenant between a man and a woman, witnessed by God and the community, that symbolizes God's love for His people, and 3) marriage is the normal mechanism by which people (except those called to celibate singleness) make their way to social, emotional, and spiritual maturity.
