My dear wife, Valeria, and I have been together for 24 years. It is mind-boggling to think that a girl from Ecuador and a boy from London would end up in the same halls, at the same school in South Florida. When I first noticed her in the hallways, I was captured right away. For me, it was, without a doubt, love at first sight. For Valeria - it was just first sight! 😆 As the weeks progressed, and I got to know her more, I became convinced that I loved Valeria. I had never felt this way toward anyone before. Twenty four years later, it should be evident that she eventually felt the same way. Things have never been the same since. We reminisce on those early days and joke and laugh and celebrate. But we also worship. The only reason we bumped into each other in the hallways in high school is because a God of awesome sovereignty was weaving together our life stories. When we celebrate God as Creator in our marriage, we can begin to look at one another with wonder and joy. When you look at your spouse and see the Creator’s glory, you feel blessed by how he or she is different. Scripture makes it clear that a wife should submit voluntarily to her husband’s sensitive and loving leadership. Therefore, as the wife voluntarily submits to her husband, she is completing him. She is helping him fulfill his responsibilities, and she is helping him become the man, the husband, and the leader God intended him to be. Husbands, you need to earn your submission by modeling Jesus to your wife. The beauty of biblical submission is that it allows the wife to confidently follow her husband’s lead. A husband should always lead with love! Scripture is clear about God’s design for marriage, but it never suggests that one spouse is more important or valuable than the other. In the eyes of God, men and women have equal worth but different roles. When a husband and wife discover and embrace how God has uniquely wired them to work in harmony and complement one another in submission, they exhibit the love that exists between Christ and His bride. How beautiful this is! ❣️

My sweet parents have been married for 51 years and they both LOVE the Lord Jesus so much. My Dad's mind isn't so great these days and Mom and I keep praying for the complete restoration of his mind.
