Christina and David grew up with ED basically for many years on that set so he was like a second father figure to them. I have never heard of any issues with ED on the set except with Amanda Bearse they had a rough working relationship.
Not-so-smart aleck it is they just need to be a hoor like Kelly and her friends. You just need candy and 5 dollars. My friend said he got a girl to strip for candy so it works lol.
For me this episode was one of the funniest ones made. I love how several times in the episode Al has to emphasize how his head landed in the trash. lol.
I can see that a common theme in this show was that Al was sick of being poor and unsuccessful and he would think of a plan to make it big. He would get his hopes up. Then it would all come crashing down on him in the end, leaving him demoralized. While the audience got a big laugh. I didn't get it as a kid. Now I get it as an adult.
That's a staple in many sitcoms. We as Americans have always been obsessed with get rich quick schemes; no experience required, minimal investment, easy work and within six weeks you'll be a millionaire.
"the same problem Al just described" was simply taking a bag of trash out to the trash can in the dark; Al's "solution" was totally impractical for such a simple task (flashlight, anyone?)
Why would someone need them? Since when do you look at your feet when you're walking? At least you're not supposed to, I mean you're supposed to be looking straight ahead.
Somehow, I don't think Bundy "shoe lights" ever received a patent! In keeping with the Kelly Bundy character, I think she should've worn those lights on another part of her body...perhaps not in the family living room, though. ;)
The get-up that Kelly was wearing was funny, but it was totally impractical--all that weighty crap strapped to your back (and feet), just to take out a bag of trash at night??!!??
It works even better if you strap a small light to your head instead of your shoes. Lights up a larger area and even aims it directly what you're looking at. Mechanics and technicians have been using them for decades. It's real handy in places like mines and tunnels, too.
Someone has already came up with a product - small LED lights attached to the shoes via the shoe laces. They use wide angle lenses to light up the whole area (horizontally & vertically) directly in front of you. Of course, without the flashlight, both hands are free to do whatever.
