I have experience in Marriott and I actually started my career in said hotel, started as a casual LPO contractor and slowly working my way up. Despite knowing the standards, having had a few interviews over the years and knowing the property I am still searching for ways to improve myself. I am a B.Com graduate in Accounting and Taxation and MBA in Finance and Information Technology. I do not hospitality degree or diploma. I had applied for for finance and accounting position at the Bangalore, Karnataka, India location couple of time, but my application was not accepted by the hiring manager. Would tell me what would be the causes for rejection and do I need an hospitality degree or deploma to start my career with Merriot?

Back in 2019 I got a internship for a Marriott resort, I was going to be a graphic design coordinator but in my 1st day my job title switch to public areas aka janitor. Then they told me I had to work six months to maybe get that internship. I stayed at the job but the pandemic hit and I my career was dead. I went back to the job in 2021 as a pool guy and by then the graphic design job was gone and I had no reason to stay there anymore. This was the worst job I had in years.

But I have retail experience online offline (5years) with unrelated qualification( BBA Marketing) I am so eager to work in Marriott Bangalore and but I am afraid of making mistake about how do I start. I had an interview for a Security position at the Marriott rooftop bar. I had a about a 15 minutes interview. The last question he asked me was, "Are you still interested in this position? Let me know so I will keep your resume on profile." I told him, "I will let you know later today. I will text him." When I got home, I realized that I forgot to ask for his business card or contact number. I called the Marriott and they transferred me to his business phone where I had left him a voicemail. I had also left him a message on Indeed and LinkedIn. He did seem very interested in me during the interview. Should I just wait for a reply, go back to the hotel and speak with him again, or call him again. Im pretty sure if i left a message in his voicemail, he got the message. What should I do? Please help....
