@@SeeDeath except the US flag. The flag code of the US states that it bows to no other country. You'll notice it at the Olympics, when it is the only flag not lowered to the host country.
Glory to France and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! Romania greatly values its relationship with two proud countries with a fascinating history! Greetings, and long live the Entente! 🇨🇵🇬🇧🇷🇴
I think the Marseillaise is the best national anthem in the world.... French speakers however will be aware of the blood-thirsty words that make it up.... (slitting throats of enemies etc., not nice)
Why on Gaius earth the Republic flag has to lower when God save the Queen was sung? What is happening? I understand that union jack flags would be lower. But why the Republic tricolor. Tricolor never answer to the God or the monarch, but only to the people. So why lower? It is a disgrace and insult to the Republicans and democrats. No tricolours bow to any Gods. Tricolour represent freedom.
This is certainly a mistake from the flag-bearer who, seeing the English flag being lowered, thought it appropriate to do the same. Nevertheless, protocol insists that the French flag should be dipped during the Marseillaise, on some occasions.
@@BuckDanny2314 I understand the tricolour lowering during the Marseillaise. The Marseillaise represent the people and freedom. So there is no problem with that. But lowering to a monarchy is not acceptable. It is direct insult to the 89 Revolution.
@@johnweinwr6563 Well, to insult the Révolution would not be such a problem for me. But aside from that, since the gesture we're talking about is probably a mistake, we shouldn't make such a fuss about this incident. Besides, please keep in mind the Marseillaise was composed and first used when France was still a Monarchy.
