Love the sound but I am also curious about the cab and speakers and what pickups that guitar is loaded with. Crushing tones!
@HermanssonAmplification
@HermanssonAmplification 2 года назад
It’s an old Swedish made Malmberg cab from the 60s with 25W 75Hz Greenbacks. The Greco is loaded with Seymour Duncan JB and 59, the Hagström has stock neck pickup and the bridge pickup is a Boston PU-52.

Nice video! I see a TC Electronics G-Major 2 there; am I right? If so, how do you like it? Cheers :)
@HermanssonAmplification
@HermanssonAmplification 2 года назад
Thanks! Yes, there is a G-major 2 in there but I use the TC D-two in this clip. I have the effects loop turned off in the second half of the clip. The TC effects works well and you can get some very useful effects out of them if you set them up right (I’ve been using them for more then 10 years). But there are of course more fancy units on the market that adds more flavor to the sound.

Is there a clean channel or is that just the guitar volume down ?
@Chaomhainn
@Chaomhainn 2 года назад
And so the time comsuming of experimentation . You would need to just utilize on instrument at a time to get the jist and reaction those gain stagings. You demo-ed two Paulie guitars while dialing around the gain stages . What did you or we learn here ? Experimentation is a long lonely path in which the ear and hands and heart will get the vibe . I don't know why everybody's all excited like little school girls about Marshall every Marshall I've ever heard or plugged into need something else except for the mg series and even those need a tube screamer or something. Yeah for my money Marshall would probably be one of the last amps I would go to especially now that there's no more tubes available. Oh and have fun lugging that thing around. It's 2022 we are in the golden age of guitar Toys there are way better sounding options that weigh so much less and are easier to get to and from the gig why burden yourself with a heavy amp that only works half the time. Can you say quad cortex.
@roncollins6259
@roncollins6259 2 года назад
To each there own Max! I'm on the other side of the fence. Been playing 30 + years. Not very good, but I know good tone,and this is stellar. Maybe with time and money you can get close with digital, but ya gotta love the feel of burning tube sag... If I was playing out, I would probably go digital for convenience and reliability. In the mix, nobody would notice. At least nobody but me! And tone and feel can be insanely inspirational...
@maxammo6282
@maxammo6282 2 года назад
@@roncollins6259 yeah I've been playing for 30 plus years myself and I do enjoy a good tube amp. Let's be real here they are very unreliable and inconsistent with the tone. And if you put some effort and a little bit of time into some of the top tier digital modelers such as helix Kepler or quad cortex you cannot even tell the difference. Especially in a mix. Plus you have the advantage of it sounding exactly the same way it did yesterday or two or three months ago you will never get that kind of consistency with a tube amp I've been there I know. Plus the newer gear is way easier to move. I like to work smarter not harder but hey each to his own.
@weschilton
@weschilton 2 года назад
@@maxammo6282 So you say to each his own, but you're being a judgemental prick. Just because you don't like this doesn't mean its wrong or bad. Crap like the Quad Cortex may be hot today, but it will be obsolete and in a landfill in 5-7 years, and yet these Marshalls will still be rocking hard and sound great. As a player I'm not looking for digital 'consistency' --whatever they hell that means anyway. I'm looking for something that lives and breathes fire with the way I play, and that has always been tube amps. PS, they aren't unreliable if you learn how to take care of them, just like anything else. But hey to each their own, right?
@enthronedoath8370

I think people are excited because it sounds great. Most amps sound better with a boost in front of them. It's an amp and cab it's not that heavy Jesus Christ anyone would think it weighs a tonne. Yeah we are in the golden ages of guitar toys and a 40 year old amp that's been modded still sounds great. Don't get me wrong the helix, kemper and qc are all great and In a mix 100% you couldn't tell the difference even through front of house you probably couldn't tell but like I said before this amp still sounds great and as for reliability the 800s came out in the 80s 40 years ago and still going so I'd say that's reliable. Each to there own. If you play a multitude of styles and genres then a moddeller makes sense but plugging straight into a marshall amp and playing is fun and that's what it's meant to be.

It's ok you don't have to be jealous of people who can afford tube amps and afford homes big enough to keep tube amps 😞
