After 3 years, this is one of my best bought products, the marshall has lasted 3 years of dropping to the floor :D, great bass, very loud, low latency and the handle has lasted well, not even damaged. I would recommend
Great review. I've owned the Kilburn II for a year now. The missing USB port is the big glaring omission. I'm using it as a speaker in an old Corvette. It sits snug behind the seats and tries honorably to fight against the screams of the V8 (and succeeds mostly), even with the top down. On a road trip with my wife it's a great feature to have the possibility to switch music between both our iPhones without having to pair them all the time. The knobs are helpful to adjust the sound within a fraction of a second without having to look at your phone (never take your eyes off the road, right?). The classic look is an added bonus. It just looks "right" sitting in a car from the 60s.
Hey man I got a 1960 vw beetle and I’m looking for a good loud speaker with a nice vintage design for my car, my cars engine is loud I’m sure everyone knows about the aircooled engines but I don’t think it’s as loud as a V8 corvette, do you recommend this speaker? Is it loud enough? I got a old UE megaboom rn and it’s nice and loud but I want an upgrade
@@ziggystardust7548 Hi, yes, I'm convinced you would be happy with it. It outperformed any other boombox I tested and I'm sure you would like it over your UE.
@@Yankeededandy62 kinda late question, but since you use an Iphone, how do they sound? I am a bid concerned since it does not support AAC, so i think it uses SBC with an iphone because it does not support aptX
@@TheBlueDeath2013 It's not the sound format but the bluetooth transmission, that defines/limits the sound quality from the iPhone. The speaker itself is also using algorythms to compress, boost and alter the sound further. The speaker wasn't designed as a pure high fidelity system but to be played at at party or in my case, in an old car. At least 50% of the data coming from the iPhone is lost in the noise of the environment where the Kilburn was used ;-). Still, I liked the Kilburn II when I had it (sold it recently) very much but never used it at home.
I just bought the extreme 2 and I have the Kilburn 1....the Kilburn is def a better sounding speaker. xtreeme 2 is louder, but not the same quality as Kilburn.
Great review. I specially like the editing when compared to JBL. And not having the multi-functions button its not so bad. Remember Marshall it's a manufacturer for live music amps and you don't fast forward a guitar solo. 😂 Congrats, well done good job.
Im a speaker snob and the Marshall speakers destroys others. The JBL series cant even compete. I had the charge3 and it sounded too muddy and the bass was severely lacking. The kilburn ii is another $100-$150 but its money well spent. Its on another level and looks beautiful. The JBL is great if Im actually swimming with the speaker.
@@Leslie.G I have the Stanmore 2. Yes its better than the original Stanmore due to the improved bluetooth technology that doesnt have the music pause or skip if your a little far away. I should update my original comment. Anyways I have the Stanmore 2, Woburn 2 and the Kilburn 2. If your using the speaker in a decent sized living room in a house then go with the Woburn 2. If its for a bedroom or apartment then Stanmore 2 works well. If you want something to take in garage with you or beach/pool or bedroom then go with the Killburn 2.
I value your opinions the most. I think you tell it like it is. All my BT speakers are JBL's. I really like the way the Marshall looks. I'm surprised the volume knob doesn't go to 11 lol! I am skeptical the bass could rival the JBL Boombox. I was blasting mine today and it's got massive thump on indoor mode. I like the ergonomics, functions, durability, and speakerphone on the JBL's but if the Marshall goes on sale low enough I might give it a try. Keep up the great reviews!
@@rockfordzzz I bought mine as a JBL refurbished unit over a year ago on black Friday. It works fine. There is a Boombox 2 coming out so I would wait for release and reviews before buying. The lowest prices seem to be on black Friday if you can wait.
I'm glad the speaker doesn't have a multi function button. I was about to buy the Sonos when I realized it has a lot of crap in it that I didn't want. And dude, the hole in the back is not a backwards facing speaker or for the speaker to direct the sound to the back as well as to the front, it's a resonance tube found in well designed speakers and subwoofers . I guess that's where JBL and Sonos put all their little multifunctions and Alexa. I prefer the tube.
Well, no shit your battery doesn't last as long as advertised. Keeping the volume at max on the speaker sends more power to the amplifier section resulting in higher power consumption.
Hi I have a problem with the battery regarding this speaker, after 3/4 hours of charging and after disconnecting from the current, the battery LEDs are not full, it only shows 9 out of 10. But during charging it shows the battery full and stops blinking. In the video I also saw your speaker showing 9 out of 10 leds, I tried to contact Marshall they told me to make the return. I have never reached 10 hours with the volume less than 50%, I think it is really a problem with the battery.
This was a nice review, thank you. Only one thing I would mention it since 90% of people watch RU-vid on the phone, audio demonstrations are ridiculous. I would much rather hear your impressions verbally then get a fake sound that doesn’t really represent what it actually sounds like.
Don't buy marshal killburn or any marshall wireless in the Philippines, they don't have service center and have no parts like what the fudge! Too expensive speakers that arent repairable!
Very bad sound and very expensive. I have a soundlink mini 2 and there is no comparision, I want to upgrade my mini beacuse I want more volume and Killburn is a complete deception. I finally bought Bose Sounflex, I cannot understand why this device cost only the half price of the killburn and sounds too much better.
HotPepper Gamer what would be your suggestion my friend? seriously asking because this looked quite attractive to me and after reading your comment, it seems obvious that I’m missing some better speakers😅
@@cncbkc You aren't. This is the best bluetooth speaker in this price range, and it's the size of a toaster so it's not a PIA to transport, or throw in a backpack. That is, if you can get by without a pause button (oh the humanity!).
Which one is louder marshall kilburn 2 or jbl boombox? I know quality wise kilburn 2 is a winner..pls reply In india both speaker come in sane price tag that’s y m confused between this 2 speaker, pls help me and reply as soon as possible
Dunno man, the newer one compared to the older kliburn, seems to be more bass like most bluetooth speakers. I like the original better , sound and looks. The older one was eq'ed to more Rock music which many Marshall owners do......we guitar players. There are lots of boom bass boxes out there but they sound like shit when you play rock music through them..
I received one today 🤩, there was no charge when i unboxed.. it was not turning on.. is that usual? , How long is it advised to charge before the first use? Please reply, thanks in advance:)
....... Does anyone actually set the bass and treble at any level but 10?? I doubt it.. why do people do these videos like this PUT THE BASS AND TREBLE AT 10!!!
Killburn 2 it's garbage!, I just bought one at Best buy.., when I test the volume!, I can only be available to hear the sound., After I crank it up to level 5 five!!!😡.., I'm returning this useless speaker!, tomorrow!.., DO NOT BUY IT.
