" They say I'm lyrically amazing but I have nothing to say But then when I gave them revival where I had something to say. They said they hate it . I lost the rage I'm too tame I get it back and they say I'm too angry "
@@NidokingOtsutsuki listened to it in 2017. It makes me sad because it's a really meaningful ane good song that em wrote to express how he feels but people called it trash without even understanding. Can't imagine how he would've felt. Imagine you wrote something beautiful expressing your thoughts and feelings with so much effort that people will understand your side of story, but then those people start calling it trash. Em is a fighter though he punched those motherfkrs in kamikaze.💪
I don't know, Twinkle... "Now take your best rhyme, outdo it, now do it a thousand times. Now let 'em tell ya the world no longer cares or gives a fuck about your rhymes." sounds kinda like something that would tire you out after 25+ years. When you already hold the Guinness world record for stacking red cups, because you stacked them so high that you've reached the top of the largest hall in the world and have to build a larger hall just to be able to beat that record and stay relevant... Yeah. The song is sad. Not just the idiotic response it got, but the standard he set for himself and the need to always keep outdoing it. I'd have burnt out after just a couple of years. He's been at it for most of his life.
@@NidokingOtsutsuki how so? He literally raps about how the hate stripped his confidence he usually has and he started getting depressed. Did you actually listen?
Em was definitely in his feels, cuz he's never been below Top 5 as an Artist commercially, globally, any year he's dropped, and he's pulling Record Breaking crowds now. But when you listen to his music through the years, it clear he's always wondering when ppl will stop listening. And it just never happens. Em feels extra pressure to be flawless, cuz he knows hip hop WANTS to rip his status away, that he's spent his life earning. Look how hard he's STILL rapping, look at how popular his music has remained, yet ppl search for ways to tear him down and are Petty AF! If Em's not delivering a 8/10 +, ppl treat it like a 3/10. And even with the Cudi song, how many doubles and triples did Eminem have? And ppl called it light on bars for Em. Ugh!
@NoNoNoNii Well USA is a shithole right now in the humanity aspect so its not a surprise they don't support Eminem. USA is just filled with a bunch of cloutchasing internet CLOWNS who don't even deserve Hip Hop honestly. I am just sick of how they disrespect the OGs who paved the way for these new cats and then really think these new cats are the best shit ever when they are not or ever WILL be. Its whatever at this point 🤷🏻♂️
Not to mention he came from nothing, he came from a world where no one wanted him. So he wants to stay in the light as much as he can. And he feels he needs to be perfect to do so. Giving him very little leeway to do what he wants really. Kamikaze I think is what he really wanted at that time when he released it though. Ripping everyone to shreds finally and getting out his anger.
Imagine opening up like this, plus taking the political stands and stuff he did on Revival, then recieve the shit he got from Joe Budden and them. I can't even imagine that... No wonder he came out with Kamikaze!
Revival isn’t his most vulnerable album. It’s also not political. It literally has 2 political songs. If that’s a political album then so are Encore, TES and MTBMB. It’s out of touch music with horrible production, an array of trash hooks, low quality mixing, and corny bars scattered all over. No matter how much he opened up it happens to be his worst album ever.
If you want an amazing story line, listen to “Castle” (revival), “Mr. Mathers” and “Deja Vu “ (both from Relapse) and then end with “Arose”, (revival). I’m telling y’all, it forms a near-flawless story line and seamlessly fits together.
I made a playlist of songs mostly from Relapse, with some from Revival, that tell a whole cohesive story about Eminem relapsing into drugs, causing him to become a murderous serial killer, and ending with his overdose, after which he overcomes his addiction and becomes unified with his alter ego. I have those songs in that order.
LitPenguin713 it works as one song, of course, but I’m telling you... just listen to these 4 songs in the order I give and you’ll see what I mean. It’s almost as if he meant to do it. Castle leads up to and ends with him OD’ing in the bathroom. Marshal Mathers (skit) picks up with them finding him in the bathroom and taking him to the hospital. That bleeds right into Deja Vu and chronicles his downfall and how he got to that point, like a recap. In Arose, we’re back to present day, after they take him to the hospital and he’s recovering while hooked up to a ventilator machine. He’s thinking about Haley and how he wants to be there for her, which pushes him to get sober, flushing the pills down the toilet.
Stevie, I have watched tons of reactors do Eminem reactions when they realized it got alot of views, but have never seen ANY of them actually pay attention and become TRUE fans. I appreciate your effort in trying to understand the artist. Weather it's Em, Hopsin, NF, Tech9, you are doing the job correctly. Don't stop.
Also u have to react to Castle&Arose from Revival. Those songs are great and you gotta react to them back to back those 2 go hand to hand with eachother. Revival is heavily underrated.
A lot of ppl h8 on this song but listening to it in retrospect to how ppl reacted to his revival album it actually became more relevant because of the h8
Song gives me chills every time. Em's uncanny ability to be so transparent and articulate his heart and mind into his bars is unparalleled. And then he finishes the track with that punch 👊 😤 #GOAT
So glad you’re giving this your ear. I personally think it’s an amazing album. How much you need to do an album review!? ILL PAY FOR IT IN FULL STEVIE. Just let me know what it’s gonna take to get a full album review of Revival. Been here since NF, leave me alone, review.
"castle" and "arose" are very good examples from the revival album. there story goes together so if you listening to then you should do both and in that order. keep up the amazing work
The whole reason people didn't like the entire album was for all of the reasons he mentions in this song. He didn't spazz or do his rappitty-rap stuff on it. I actually really think I liked the album more than most of his older albums because he DIDN'T just go crazy on it. But, because of the hate, we got Kamikaze and now Music to Be Murdered By.
@Joey N. He always had some songs with flows, that are different than most of his songs. This is kind of an "Poetry Slam" style (at least that's what it reminds me of). It makes this song a bit more unique and extra memorable.
This song and "believe" go together. The "bitch, I wrote Stan" goes with "I started from the bottom like a snowman" line from believe. Both songs together are a really nice intro to an album. If the third song was the chloraseptic remix instead of the original one, it would be so dope.
I was looking for someone to have said this. Always been one of my favorite tracks. I use it when people don’t like Eminem because of his controversial songs or write him off a shock value this is my go to song to be like “you’re wrong he’s an artist.” I love that it is way back on the Slim Shady lp.
This song, actually the entire album, makes me cry. He sounds like he's almost done, and you hear his heart bleed in every song... and I just can't help this feeling down that he's about to retire. To show my age. His first album came out when I was 16... and I've literally watched this man grow into something beautiful.
Stevie is now officially entering Stage 2 of being a Eminem fan! He'll be a Stan like Shaq in no time! I told Stevie this months ago, once you start the Eminem journey the realization of why Em's fan base is so LOYAL and HUGE becomes apparent. Eminem's whole story is intriguing and there are many layers to explore giving you years of content to cover and Stan's will follow👀🙂. Em really is the GOAT - Modern day Shakesphere!
@@dawnwildman4252 lol dude do you actually think Shaq is a stan ? I bet you he does not listen to any of the songs after he is trough with the reactions he probably dont know any lyrics to any songs other than something really popular like Lose yourself . The furthest shaq can go is just be someone who admires eminem for his skill and talent. Just so you while im saying all this , he`s one of favourite reactors so i aint hating or something i just dont think he`s a stan
I hate how this talented controversial artists or sport players get a lot of shit but when they die, that's when people starts to noticing how talented they're. Now I know criticism is important, if we don't critique we ain't gonna have better quality of things, but also be thankful, be thankful for all the stuff that you have, that was given to you and give your family member, friend, favorite artist, etc... their flowers while he can smell them.
Believe is meant to come directly at the end of this as a direct continuation, samr as Castle and Arose - PLEASE do them in that order, maybe even in the same video or separate but directly after listening and thoughts on the first song
Love that you did this. Eminem is an artist... you already know he is brilliant, he should be able to try different things without people losing their shit and start hating
This was poetry, super underrated. Em showed human growth. And it was EXACTLY what I personally needed at the exact time I needed it. Recovering from opioid addiction that ran my life for years after a physician prescribed them and I couldn't quit. But my kid looked at me like I'm perfect, yet I'm hiding this thing at all times. It was just a terrible feeling man, and this song hit all those notes. At the same time I left the Army and was trying to finish a degree in order to get into med school, which itself requires you to have flawless grades and check every box. You just feel imperfect at all times. So detoxing, getting sober to this song, and moving on with life...this song gets a ton of credit. A TON.
When I FIRST heard this song I wanted to cry. Not in a good way either. I was so let down by Eminem. I was actually embarrassed at how bad this song was. NOW it’s one of my all time favourite songs by Eminem. When you sit there and truly listen to his words, it hits so different than just hearing the song. Thank you Em for being you.
I remember listening to this album like 5 mins after release and thought how crazy and good it was... next morning I was blown away by the people shitting on it, was depressing
I so appreciate this reaction. Exactly how I felt when I first heard it but I also knew then that a lot people wouldn’t like the sound because as a first single to a much anticipated album, it sounded very different from the past Em.
Only the die hard Em fans appreciated what this song was. To me, it fit in the Eminem universe perfectly. You take the Relapse, Recovery, Revival trilogy, this song makes sense to me. But the Twitter mob went crazy, plus just before this he dissed Trump, so you had those fans ready to diss him back. I love this track. It’s my favorite artist of all time letting us see the vulnerability of the Rap God.
Someone on Patreon make Stevie react to *Eminem Castle & Arose* together because they both go together and they are masterpiece of storytelling in my opinion.
This song brakes my heart imagine feeling this way after how hard his worked how much his fought to be this amazing person we love ya Em damn anyone else want to give him a hug and say its ok to rest its ok to stop if you want to people's minds won't change you've done it....😔🥺
Stevie needs to react to 1. *Castle, Arose* (they are connected songs and are masterpieces in my opinion.) 2. *In Your Head* 3. *Believe* 4. *Tragic Ending* are some tracks from Eminem’s Revival Album that are great.
This song is so underrated. The album Revival as a whole is good & full of substance/context. I can see people criticizing the production & beat selections he chose but to completely overlook the substance/context of his lyrics on that album BECAUSE you (metaphorically) don't like some of the beats & production values isn't right. You should definitely give the album a listen to.
Stevie, when you have the chance can you react to “drug ballad” and “the way I am” and also “going through changes” he talks about proofs death, it dope af
I'm just so damn happy you form your own opinion about the music and not just getting influenced about what other say about it, respect for you seriously!
