Welch ein Glück,ein großes Geschenk für mich,dass ich diese 2 Musiker heute hören konnte. Seit Jahrzehnten habe ich Musik in dieser Vollendung nicht mehr gehört. Ich danke Ihnen.

Ich kannn gar nicht genug danken für die Aufnahme dieses so besonderen Konzerts. In bangen Stunden spenden mir die beiden aus vollem Herzen in e i n e m Atem musizierenden, lebenserfahrenen Künstler unendlich viel Trost. Der besondere Konzertraum einer Synagoge, die die Pogromnacht überlebt hat, gibt der Musik , insbesondere dem Kol Nidrei Gebet eine Tiefe, die die Wurzeln des Menschseins berührt. Ich wage dann zu hoffen, dass meinn todkrankes Enkelkind wieder genesen darf. Danke. Danke. Danke.

It’s so rare to have opportunity to hear solo from Argerich these days. It’s such a heavenly played music by her. Inspiring as always!

You know you are watching an excellent pianist when you want to cut out and go watch some other video but you just can't leave. There is just no good time to exit magnificence.

I am in love with that cello! He plays it with such exquisiteness. As for Martha, she is totally at one with the piano. Two instruments, inanimate objects of themselves, brought to life by these players. It’s a mini version of God saying “Let there be light!” Creation.

God bless you Martha @ 80yrs old. Seeing these two together somehow lightens the tragedies we're experiencing this year! Brava /Bravo!

As I am watching this, I can see Bach sitting in the audience, nodding in complete approval and gazing at Martha Argerich in combination of awe and admiration.

Diese beiden Musiker (Oma und Opa) erzählen mit ihren Musikinstrumenten aus ihrem Leben und dies in einer unübertroffenen Art und Weise! Ich könnte ihnen stundenlang zuhören. Keine Kunst, egal ob Schauspielerei, Malerei oder Literatur ist so spannend und vermittelt mehr Gefühl führ die Seele. Martha Argerich und Mischa Maisky haben hier ein Kunstwerk für die Ewigkeit geschaffen.

She simply sits there and allows God to play through her. She is God’s vehicle. She doesn’t add any egoic nonsense to the cleanliness of Bach. God is gracious when allowed to be. Her hands are ‘His’.

Superb. Two truly great artists find exactly the right language during this difficult time. It cleanses and reminds of the much deeper value of life.

Imagining and writing the music, building the instruments, the great hall, the recording technology, the internet... the incredible talent of these two artists, unimaginable!

Martha in its purest form. What a wonderful way to master the light and darkness of sound passages. They delve into the depths of the soul. Brave, subtle, clean ... I would highlight the way Bach plays. it is not pure mathematics as we are told. It is pure music as pure mathematics is, art, and as intuition is, and as spirituality is.

This is so lovely. I visited Goerlitz in 2017 because my Mother stayed at a refugee camp (we think the POW camp) near there in Poland in 1946 or so. I wish I would have seen the temple. Thank you so much for this concert. It means so much that you share your talent with this world as it is.

What a beautiful house of worship. Such sober and elegant architecture / interior design. Gorgeous combination of colors, materials, lines, and shapes. It has Syrian air. The chandeliers are so original and elegant. Two heavyweights of classical music (well, Martha is literally an icon) One of the things I like about her the most is that she does a lot of chamber music (so essential). Bach at the beginning of the recital, totally makes sense. His suites are probably the best of his compositions. When I heard them for the first time, there was no doubt in my mind that he was the best composer of what we consider classical music (though he was a baroque composer). Maestro Maisky’s rendition is very interesting, there are great nuances and colors. However, I find some of his tempi a little too fast (still enjoyable though). The prelude is probably the most popular of all the movements of these suites. I definitely think it should be played slower than most people play it. His vibrato and some of his rubatos border Romantic style... Martha’s interpretation of the partita was very interesting as well. However, she almost never takes a few seconds to breathe before starting to play and sometimes she throws her hands abruptly on the keyboard as if saying “Let’s get this over with” and in this case (and many others) her hands (fingers) landed on the keyboard unevenly and loud. Overall it is full of sublime nuances. She understands Bach's music very well but her pulse is not always steady. It gets better and better as the performance advances, though. The rest of the recital, when they play together, any imperfection seems to fade. These two are great together (mostly Martha, her fingers slide all over the keyboard so easily, naturally and masterfully filling the wonderful synagogue with so much beauty). Maestro Maisky was great too. I find some of his rubato a little exaggerated, though (mostly when interpreting Beethoven). Chopin was heavenly. Bravi!!! PS The presenter must be Maestro Maisky's twin brother :)

Totally appreciative of the privilege to listen to these two great professionals of the music stage!

It is a completly new approach to the cello concerto to my ears. So.distict.ftom Casals,Rostropovich, Mork the greater romantics ,or the scores of other versions I have heard. Does no one else find this remarkable.? The truly astounding thing is that these so.familiar pieces can.be made to.breathe, to.be vivid and surprising at every turn.Our cellist has found a new approach that is so credible that many commentors find God, or st least a religious piety to.these so very familiar works.It is an accomplishment of great proportions, a new way to.look.at Bach and find.the solace, compassion, humanity and sprit we have found before.I leave our pianist's miracles to other verbose writers, I find , indeed, I must apologize for the length of my enthusiasm here..I was clearly ovetehrmed by these pieces I.love so mich.May they bring peace and all Bach to each of us.

I've heard these two play together in chamber music groups, and they are always wonderful. Listening to Argerich play Bach is new to me - I have always heard her play romantic music. Thank you for posting it. It's a beautiful synagogue.

Vor etwa 50 Jahren saß ich zu Füßen von Martha Argerich und verliebte mich in sie. Maurice André "begleitete" ihr Orgelspiel in der überfüllen Tübinger Stiftskirche. Nach solch langer Zeit spielt diese großartige Frau immer noch so begeisternd wie vor einem halben Jahrhundert. Chapeau!
