See I like how the Wing Chun guy actually said the karate in the 10v1 would actually eat that guy up because he's not biased for his own martial art

True, good karate martial artists can have extremely powerful punches and kicks, the one person may try to one punch disable one of them, but soon or later some punch will land and fight is over. I mean you can block one two three if someone is fast but not this many people.

The one thing that Bruce lee looks awkward is the camera that time can't fully capture Lee Movements. So basically first lee have to really slow down his movement in a very much sluggish yet sharp moves and then they had to then slow the film down so that people can actually see what his doing. The first show lee aired was like a king-fu gasm cause he was a it guy task to beat people up in that 60s detective show. He literally destroyed the whole office set. Cause the props weren't as WWE level of easily breakable props used. Bruce lee is just a beast of his time.

@guojames9269 ay bruh I wasn't being all that serious but idk man I think I'd have a chance I'm a lot bigger and I have done wrestling I have no doubt that Bruce Lee could not guillotine me if I take him down I don't see much submission threat from him and I don't think he has enough grappling knowledge to stop ground and pound even from guard and I could likey slam him pretty good considering his size. Although he's much more athletic then me and Definitely more explosive.

To Tony Jaa credit, in Ongbak he mostly use Muay Boran to fight, not the modern day Muay Thai. The main different between these 2 Muay is that Muay Boran is the technique that develop to KILL your opponent in the very old era of Thailand (before we were called Siam and then Thailand) as the last resort when you lose your weapon. While Muay Thai is the much safer version of Muay Boran which still contain the core of Muay Boran while strip off the element that deem too dangerous to use in modern day as a sport. The technique that he use when he Teep his opponent face is call "BaTa-Loop-Pak" (บาทาลูบพักตร์) which roughly translate to "Feet at the face" The closest technique in Muay Thai Boran to that scene in Ongbak that Tony Jaa jump to his opponent shoulder and elbow to the head is call "Rue-Si-Bod-ya" (ฤาษีบดยา) or roughly translate to english "Hermit grind medicine" which is technique that you climb on one of your opponent leg with one of your leg and use your another leg to put your weight on opponent shoulder then elbow to opponent head.

the fight in the train was somewhat unrealistic because like the lady said while kick of the type one of the character uses is great if you have lots of space and long range (well about it being great in lot of space situation is something I said) not something you would do in short range and tight space. but what about the leg kick. in my case from a southpaw stance with my left leg to the inside of his lead leg. you can also pull his lead leg to trip him getting him off balance and then deliver a punch to the liver with your left. or elbows and knees when he is close. would that work?
@nicholasgreen339
@nicholasgreen339 2 месяца назад
It's not unrealistic In real fights you r not prepared to fight They just happen and you react Yes it's a film But the fights have no rules or time limits Different knowing you can get stabbed or shot Most people on RU-vid may not ever had any sort of fight Any type of fighting is scary And anything goes People do use high kicks And stuff yiu see in films In the streets there r no rules ..
@bartangel4867
@bartangel4867 2 месяца назад
@@nicholasgreen339 I'm not saying high kick would be useless in a street fight if someone is flexible enough and good enough so they can do it well. but it would have to be done in right moment it would not be your main attack. also fight on the street would be different than in a train because you don't have as much ability to move around in the train. I think this is where teep would be useful to keep your opponent away from you when you need it considering that you have enough space in a straight line just not that much to the side. and at close range you would be using elbows and knees and at longer range leg kicks and punches. but you are right in a street fight anything goes. but you can't prepare for everything no matter how good you are you prepare for every scenario you can think of. and yes even if you have fought in the ring before street fight is little different but fighting in the ring still gives you better preparation for a street fight that if you haven't fought at all. also you are right many things that work well in a fist fight will not translate well if opponent pulls out a knife. but in the end if you are in the bar facing a bartender and someone comes with a knife behind you and stabs you then it doesn't matter if you fought before in a ring or even on the street you are just as dead. but that is almost like saying that if someone shoots you then would mean that your fighting style doesn't work but that is not true. now martial arts is not self defense precisely because of reasons you mentioned but that doesn't mean it will not help you it just means it will not help you in every situation. and if someone does pull out a knife then while somethings in martial arts will be useless some will work when i mean work I mean they will give you some kind of chance because if someone has a knife and you are unarmed no matter what you are in big disadvantage. and most likely you are going to get stabbed the question is will you be able to take him out before he does severe enough damage to kill you. and in any case when someone takes out a knife it is better to run then to fight at less you have no other choice. and yes in the end its experience that matters most. but martial arts can to large degree make the bridge between no fighting ability vs being able to defend yourself in a no rule fight. as long as you actually test the fighting system or systems that you are using in actual combat. but there are steps you need to take before that and then you ramp it up, not the other way around and martial arts if you actually test it in sparring the ring and so one with each step being more like a real fight that gives you foundation that will give you better chance in real fight.

as far as cutting a spear on the other hand I don't feel it would be that easy. first the way spear moves its hard to get a clean hit with a sword. second if a spear is made of strong wood like hickory it would take several clean shots to cut it with a sword. the only way a sword can beat a spear is obviously if the guy with a sword got close enough. But other than that spear is both better as a weapon and easier to use.
