Thank you guys for the lovey comments! The whole team worked hard on these Experts Try episodes! 00:22 Can you guess the next episode based on Noah's badass outfit?
They actually recreate move 1 wrong. The actual combination is block, backhand strike to side of the face, then strike and leg. It's hard to notice unless you watch in slow motion.
There was once s time where I played sleeping dogs so much, then I switch to my new pc and I didn't know that Steam does not cloud save your Sleeping Dogs saves so I got bored of doing everything again.
I know I might be reaching with this, but for that two people with one kick scene, I feel like the main character in the game kicked making contact with their heel for the first person and then landing a hit on the secondary person hitting with the ball of their foot behind the large toe with their ankle locked out and kinda using the deflection off the first person to almost help rebound the hit into the secondary person's face.
OK, THAT was awesome. Sleeping Dogs is easily one of my favorite games out of the 600+ I've played. Now I want a Sleeping Dogs 2 with a female main protagonist. Make her 4'8"!!
@aRctic wtf !!! They literally bought True Crime franchise and changed the title to sleeping dogs ...yea Sleeping Dogs is originally True Crime 3 so they bought it out along with what was suppose to be True Crime 3 and then shut down 🙄
Sleeping Dogs is arguably the best martial arts videogame. It has an homage to Ip Man, the Drunken Master, and not to mention; they even have an entire DLC story that is an homage to Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon!
Yes cause we have Jacob with his fusion of Bare-Knuckle Boxing and Street Brawling breaking bones and defeating enemies in the most brutal and painful manner, and we have his brainy sister Evie taking down enemies in a quick and efficient manner with accurate kicks to the head, painful joint manipulation holds, and grapples where she disarms an enemy of his bladed weapon, or firearm and then add insult to injury by following up with a killshot from the enemy's own weapon.
Hmm as someone that has done martial arts for so long I'm actually really let down by Syndicate's combat system. Very basic to say the least. One button for attack, one to stun and one to counter and that's it. You pepper your opponents with repeated attacks, counter when someone tries to hit you, and then stun when they're blocking. I don't like that there is no variety, no grappling, no mix up of punches and kicks, no variety of other animations besides haymakers coming left and right, with exaggerated hits bludgeoning the enemies. Instead of the getting knocked unconscious they get stabbed with the hidden bladed and pulled into a state of just hanging there before getting finished off. The finishing off animations do look good, but they're repetitive, and they can be too lengthy. You're finishing someone off, you don't need to go through the process of beating the crap out of them again, that was the point of lowering their health. No knockdowns, no throws, no use of the environment, and Jacob and Evie are always static, staying in one place. Imagine light and heavy attacks, some dodging, blocking, grabbing for a throw or pushing someone into a crowd and punching them but it uses that person as a shield at the same time, because movement is key when surrounded. I always envisaged a chaotic street fight system in this before it was released. Grabbing someone and throwing them into a table, licking up a broken table leg and throwing it at a charging enemy, using a well timed heavy attack after dodging to wind the enemy, turning to another kicking off a wall into a punch and parrying incoming hits because enemies aren't just one hit wonders that stop after being defended against or attacked , they're capable of some back and forth, making fights more interesting and meaning you need to try different tactics. Instead we got Syndicate. For me, it was the worst part of the game, very basic and dull. The Ezio trilogy had part better combat, with strikes, dodges, guard breaks, disarming and satisfying executions/takedowns. The Arkham series managed to do the one hit attack, one to stun and one to counter just right. The combat was fluid, with so many different moves and techniques used and it flowed so well, with Batman using moves appropriate for the distance and directions and number of each enemy.
@@Gaiden-Shinji875 Ezio trilogy had part better combat? my ass, ezio combat is played out and slow, im sorry but i disagree, and your saying those things due to u being a another annoying Ezio fanboy, im done and won't read any reply bye bye,
@@emjd2009 Been doing martial arts for the last 15 years, and when practicing jiu-jitsu years ago I was the guy taking the hits. I was roughly the same size as my sensei, just a little taller and a size or two bigger but it worked. We never get enough credit 😁 we're the crash test dummies. Great for conditioning though, and you always get first-hand experience with feeling how something works
Real hitman reacts to Hitman trilogy would be really interesting. Hope you manage to find one willing to share. Maybe a professional one even, since amateurs tend to do things brutally.
I actually think there may still be some old counter-intelligence folks that operated during post-WW2 period and can talk about general, non-specific stuff like tricks 47th uses in Hitman. I mean, like Christopher Lee (yes, that one). Sadly, he's not with us anymore. They say he used to have talks with J.J. Abrams about things like "this is not how people stabbed in the back sound, trust me". But maybe there are still people who can professionally comment on a fictional piece, even if not some real events.
The yakuza games can get really cartoony, seriously some go the heat actions are so fucking ridiculous that it feels like some really stupidly good slapstick comedy
Noah's hair always adds an extra effect to his fighting styles. And Gemma, hoo boy, just don't make fun of her height and you wouldn't end up in a hospital after the fight.
Gemma and Noah seem like really cool people to hang with and talk martial arts from movies and games. A lot of light humour and they've got great chemistry
id love to see more Yakuza stuff, so many characters, so many styles, Kiryu, Akiyama, Tanimura, Nishida, and everyone's favorite nutcase, Majima, maybe even have them recreate some of the moves from the games, because some of those moves are seriously cool
I just started yakuza 0 and after taking down oda in the penthouse I was like oh nice I’m gonna get to work with tachibana and then I’m introduced to a strange eyepatch boi
@@jamesgratz4771 the eyepatch man is an important character in yakuza kiwami....by now you only know him as "The Lord of the Night" but he is legendary like Kazuma the Dragon of Dojima. He is the Mad Dog of Shimano.....Goro Majima.
Damn this has to be one of my fav expert reacts. I love Noah and Gemma together and Sleeping Dogs is such an awesome game! They did a great job recreating the moves. So cool that the game is not that over the top and the things are widely doable.
I think as a martial arts practitioner, that it is not fine that they say ridiculous movements to the style of Drunken Fits, they are really possible to do and choreographer ... and I speak from experience since most I have made them. And since the game has plausible movements to do
@@kaitosasaki4262 Especially in the other Yakuza games there would be a lot to react to in terms of Martial Arts. I dont know why Gamology has no interest in the Yakuza Series.
@@JS-vj1il I haven't played 3 and onwards, so.. I don't really have knowledge of Akiyama and the other boy's fighting style True, they only covered it once with Kiryu in Yakuza 0, but the clips didn't even cover half of the movements yet. A bit of a disappointment really
Are you guys ever going to do Majima's Fighting Styles from Yakuza? You covered Kiryu's but skipped the Mad Dog of Shimano, feel like a huge opportunity is waiting there.
Ok, I'm gonna be that guy. The sweep at 0:43 is more of a modified hixa guruma than a kick. Because you can't kick someones legs from underneath them from that angle. So you step around, and block the knee, making them fall.
I do muy thai (miss spelled???) And I rarely hear anyone talk about it on RU-vid, I'm glad that they think the style is cool and powerful and praising it in a way 🙏🤝
That is the only martial art I want to learn which is wing chun and the grandmaster does throw punches like that but only in the ip man's movies trigoly.
