I’ve always liked the visceral feel they add to the combat in Last of Us 1. I haven’t played 2 yet but do enjoy watching the aggressive gameplay videos.
Some of Abby's close quarter combat maneuvers looked a lot like Krav Maga. Ellie's fighting style seemed to simply be she was pissed and had a knife and never hesitated for a second to use it lol. I love the visceral tone of the fighting in this game.
"She could've been a mom shopping for groceries" "Then that just makes me look like an asshole!" Little do they know that thats the game in a nutshell 😂
Props to the stuntman for doing such an amazing job and making looks so well good he was able to sell it perfectly. Oh snap I almost forgot the camera man too for capturing it and moving it along and helping it sell.
As much as people hated the game, the different fighting styles between Ellie and Abby are so well put together. Ellie being the stealthy slasher with melee attacks revolving around her switchblade, while Abby is using those years of physical training to good use and punching her enemies to death.
The tanking and stealth game styles blend so flawlessly and smoothly. I get complaints about the story being depressing but the gameplay is masterful! How can anyone dislike the game as a whole is beyond me.
@@yellow242 So the graphics, brutal shooting and combat mechanics and millions of variations of getting through each encounter is all trash or are you just yet another butthurt fan that didn't get their way?
@@kstewart199375 true, I'm an animator and inspiring video designer, a lot of work was put into the game and I respect that. Hating the game for just one thing doesn't make the whole thing garbage, give respect to the people who spent their hours making this game.
The hand to hand combat for this game is amazing. you feel the impact of each hit to the point that it feels real. Great Recreation!!! (Miss you Gemma)
This video makes me realize why I don't like doing hand-to-hand combat against human enemy as Ellie. Her fighting is basically "I'm a teenage girl with a switch-blade knife and I'm angry as fuck". Whereas Abby's fighting style is more controlled and trained and overall just feels nicer.
This makes me noticed how much fun I actually had in TloU2. Playing as Abby was fun just punching people. But hey, I know the most fans hate part 2 but I had more fun playing 2 than 1. PS: The compilation with Cruel Angels Thesis was fun.
@@noquemacuhh1967 agreed! This game deserves the awards I heard it won a lot and I mean lots of awards, I am super happy this game got the game of the year, it deserves it, I had so much fun playing this game, tons of rollercoaster emotions. Yeah it deserves the awards big time
@@tiffanyillig48 yes. We cant let these 10 year old haters take over this fandom. The fanbase is toxic as it is, we don't need more negativity here. (I haven't played the game and im planning on playing it, i seen enough videos to tell me, im going to like this game)
Noah seems like that older brother, cousin or friend that comes in to save the day when you getting picked on, queue the epic music when the hero arrives :D
Always love the martial arts content, and Chrystiane seems really cool. She even makes puns! But I do wish gamology gave more background to the games or scenes that they are reacting to/recreating. I think having Noah, Gemma, and Chrystiane (along with all the other reactors) know a bit more about the game would offer some unique insights here and there.
@MrWereverForever yeah, but to be honest rdr2 was too realistic at some points. it made the game more immersive sure, but I can't help but feel like it sacrifices fun to keep realism high
Swear, i only watch Vids with Gemma and Noah and honestly only subscribed for them 😂🙈They play off each other so well and have so much knowledge between them.
Awesome video as always but Gemma was born to recreate Ellies fight scenes, especially tiny Ellie from the first game. Wouldnt mind having all 3 in a vid though, Noah does knives, Chrystiane guns and Gemma puns xD
There are takedowns in the game when you throw something at an enemy and they’re usually pretty unique and impressive. Surprised there was none in this besides normal melee
I like this change waaay better, the other girl was so short that throwing front kick or a knee was basically the same. Looked like patrick star dancing.
Such a unique fighting system. Really fell in love with the game from start to beginning! Really happy with all the content this channel has been producing for Last of Us and other well deserving games :D
Yeah you guys are right. The sensitive and soft areas you hit is the nose because people can get teary eyed and lose abit of sight while you follow up with a technique (whatever that could be) or the back bone near the ear or you can cup them so hard it bursts the inside of their ear drum :) even when you punch them in the throat (another soft area) you could break their trachea and kill them because stopping oxygen getting in is stopping blood to the brain 😬 😂 the eyes is a good one because it's where your brain is..... as well your temples is another spot to hit because when it's hit good with a great technique (no stuff ups) you can move the brain (as the brain is stationary) and let it hit the other side of your head causing either a concussion or death. Keep in mind to have the death you need to have conditioned your hands to the point your hands is all you need against someone with a baseball bat etc. Jon bluming shattered someone with his open hand strikes and the palm bone yeah ruined the guys brain even mas oyama. He accidentally killed someone with his hands that took down 52 bulls. severed their horns.
The martial artists should recreate fight moves from the Yakuza series : the beautiful blend of style and technique as well as some welcomed slapstick comedy will thrill Noah especially and there’s some awesome karate and taekwondo-inspired stuff for Gemma👌
My fighting style is very simple, I use spins and twists to make my opponent lose their sense of balance, and simply sit on them so they can't get off the ground.
8:35 I never want to experience punch in the throat ever again. I got hit accidentally on a basketball match with an elbow of a guy a head higher than me (I have around 6 feet) and 1,5x heavier than me (tried to block him and fell onto me). I seriously thought I'd die for the first minute because of suffocation, but it healed. I wouldn't continue playing that match, for several hours it hurt me, but fortunately the next day everything was fine.
Awesome vid, thanks guys! I waited this for a while :) I like the new lady too, she's really nice. What's next? My suggestions: *Soulcalibur 6 (Gemma'd love Maxi's martial arts), Uncharted The Lost Legacy or Def Jam Fight for NY*
