"is elbow inside to the knee common in penchak silat" yes, it comes from the use of 'kerambit'.. to cut the tendons to make the enemy immobile so we can do 'all sort of things' to their body on the ground. if not you use the elbow's bone edges to hit the tendon and give as much damage as you can. in Silat, the ground fighting is where the 'show' begins. if u noticed silat stance is low, so thats why the fighting style like that. in the old times, silat was use in the jungle warfare, also to terrify the other tribes so that they wont mess with them. yes it is rooted in indonesia but it branched out and blooms in Malaysia. we called it 'silat nusantara' an indirect meaning of 'we are from the same root'

Silat is mother of Kali, Kali from South Philippine, which mean from Sulu.. Sulu's ancestors came from West Sumatra, Indonesia, and they taught Silat to the people there, so that Kali appeared as a martial art there whose initial basic technique came from Silat. It's simple like this, everyone who understands silat can play Kali, but people who understand Kali don't necessarily understand all silat techniques.

His final fight with Sunny Pang in this film is available on RU-vid finally. I'd love to see you react to that one as it's my favorite of Iko's fights

This film is just full of awesome fight scenes like in the police station and the final fight. Iko Uwais is a beast man! 😆🔥

Hey man thanks to the reaction. With this movie it's a lot of the director of TNCFU finding his steps in action filmmaking and its honestly less of a martial art movie with Iko's main character having amnesia for the first half of the movie while fighting mostly brawler type of figures Check out the final fight tho. It's against Phillipine actor Sunny Pang. For context here, Sunny is using some Tiger Claw based art (I would call it Kung Fu but it looks like Silat has a tiger style so it might be that) and he plays the main bad guy of the movie. He is kind like the adoptive father of Iko who plays an amnesiac who turned out to be an assassin who used to work for Sunny Pang's character as his main hitman and adoptive son. After some shit happened he lost his memories and Sunny Pang's assassins are hunting him. elbow attack is the most powerfull than punch attack cause elbow attack use the rotary of the body that give more power energy and dont need prepare of time to attack.. just little swing our body with elbow to hit the target of enemys body.. thats typical attack of pencak silat

I think the elbow to the knees is a Tai Chi block if you watch man of Tai Chi with Tiger Chen Iko Uwais is in that he may of learned it from Tiger Chen although Wing Chun also has a lot of elbow blocks to the knees as as Pencak Silat uses a lot of Kung Fu techniques as well

Is it only me or the camera is a bit (if not a lot) shaky here. I mean from all of iko's MA movie, maybe this one is not much well done. But still, love the movie tho.

Correct me if you dare, but this "best fight" should be called "most unrealistic fight". Are you really going to tell me that anybody can withstand more than a few hits from a baton without dissolving into a crumpled ball of pain and losing the fight?

Both baseball bat man and hammer Girl was in this film bland just like their Character in the raid their Characters here die in their own weapons
