Honestly I think they developed the foundation code with EA MMA, used that engine for EA UFC 1, and they've refined the mechanics since then, with no thought of reinventing the core mechanics

The fact that we can no longer purchase UFC 1, 2 or 3 off the digital stores is a sham. It's like they know most people would continue to play them instead of UFC 4 or 5. If EA wanted to, they could bring back the servers and update the rosters for previous games

It’s crazy the game is out now for people who pre ordered & there is still not one review out from a main stream media channel like gameranx , ign , gamespot or any other big gaming media channel… probably because it’s just copy and paste & they would bring up how disappointing it is , that’s why EA is using small channels that will say nothing bad about the game to keep getting their free early copy every release
After playing UFC 5 ranked for about 4 hours using the trial, I can say that as a diehard MMA fan, this is the worst game in the franchise. The fact that these RU-vidrs sold us on the idea that the damage system and all of these other superficial changes actually made a difference makes me sick. It is a spammers haven. Somehow the skill gap has closed all the way. There is no reason to buy the game if you want to sim. It’s also extremely buggy. Please don’t buy it.

I was watching martialminds “ufc career” series as of recently and it amazes me how he completely ignores the bugs in the game when they are in his face and doesn’t acknowledge that the career mode is exactly the same as ufc 4. Man these videos hit me in the feels and I have been saying this stuff on gaming forums. At some point these studios are gonna get rekt financially when there are some successful lawsuits occur that puts a LOT of accountability on these predatory studios who take advantage of kid's developing brains with these gaming or "surprise mechanics." It will occur, even CSGO has 15 billion dollars in skins that are not being accounted by which would be bigger than almost every cryptocurrency. WIth that said, I remember Anthem game changers and they absolutely have to shill total posititivty and it's the cheapest form of effective advertising since they don't pay nearly anything worthwhile. These youtubers like Marshill literally make a living taking advantagge of their own viewers and that's for every game. Gameranx and others really tried to big up the Pay Day 3 game and it was complete crap when released. Same with MK 1. These youtubers are a complete joke.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition. I was going to buy ufc 4, but I figured I'd wait for the next game to not get left behind. I've never played a ufc game, but I'm a pretty hardcore fan, I try to never miss a fight. I grew up on wwe and played those games, and loved them. I only go to RU-vid to see what I'm getting, not for advice on purchasing the game. I'm probably in the 0.1% though 😅 I just hope the game is fun.

Idk why but it's weird to see gaming companies use influencers in their official trailers. Undisputed boxing is doing the same thing. They went from Todd Grisham being the voice of Undisputed to letting a few RU-vidrs be their spokespeople and it just makes them seem less legit imo
It happens to a lot of video games its not just UFC, its also so - UFC (I'm adding it because I want a compiled list) Fifa or EA FC Call Of Duty & Warzone Destiny 2 Undisputed (To an extent) Fortnite Apex And so on and so on... For whatever reason the devs are going more in the favour of streamers which I don't understand.
Also, I remember arguing with one of these 'Game Changers'.... The guy made all the excuses in the world for the terrible Alpha and Beta of BF2042 and was doubling down on me on Twitter saying I was wrong to say that this game would flop. Low and behold the obvious happened, it flopped. When you've played games for a long time you can see through this shit. It did help playing the Alpha and Beta but holy crap come on.... The most shocking thing I saw from Martial was during his trailer reaction. During the trailer fight between with Alex vs Izzy, where it looks like a movie, Martial said "for anybody concerned about this being just engine footage.. dont worry.. trust me, just trust me". It's possible, if EA dropped the franchise it would be due to low sales, so 2K would go out of their way first release to build a good foundation. On the flip side there may be other publishers who would put themselves forward. Basically as long as EA make the games, we're getting swindled. They never aim to create the best game, their aim is to drip feed improvements over the course of 20 years, and your complaints don't stop you from buying the game.

UFC 5 sucks.. I'm glad I waited to play trial before buying this crap. It was worth the $5 spent on the EA 1 month subscription to access the trial. Unfortunate..
i played ea ufc 5 and honestly it looks same but it feel a lot different when you play it. Game is really responsive it makes you feel like you are in the fight and fights feel really good but theres so much that they didn't do great and its just ea being lazy hopefully community can influence them to make the game we want i know its not our job but thats the only company making games of our favourite sport
From what I've heard they've tightened up the Input delay, which is great. however I stand by it's not worth the price tag for tweaks which could have been made to UFC 4 - I'll be doing an honest review next week

@ClaimerUncut I'm telling you 95% of changes are just changing one code variable from like x = 5 to x = 6 the "new" graphics is nothing but moving the sliders up or down a tick on the "shading" engine the bullshit last second patch they did for online ranked was just changing the timer variable from one week to one day or an hour or whatever the only substantial change is the seemless grappling which I swear is 2 months of work TOPS. the scummy lie of a trailer with all the new animations, they could've grabbed all the mo cap and literally just added it to the animations that get triggered when you do a takedown. not that hard I'm telling yall the devs have the easiest life ever I wish I was getting paid big bucks to sit for three years and do 2 months of work

I'm a fan of Martial but, it is quite noticeable how different his tone towards the game has been in the Ufc 5 content he's posted thus far! Towards the end of UFC 4's lifecycle and throughout he shared quite a lot of criticism for the game and it's shortcomings which I feel he hasn't properly adressed with ufc 5 as there are still glaring issues. There has definitely been improvements made to UFC 5 but from what i've seen it's not enough to be considered a true sequel warranting the 3 year development time. Especially if it still can't stand up to Undisputed 3 in terms of quality and in 2023 content creators and especially game changers with influence over the game SHOULD be mad at that. Solid video though good work! The one point I will disgree with you though is that I don't blame him for almost exclusively playing UFC games as they are the games which garner the most attention on his channel! It's just smart financially
Thanks Noah, I think at this stage in Martial's journey, being almost a millionaire.. it would be nice to see him attempt high effort, thought provoking content. He'd attain high viewer counts if the content is good.
Your video was 100% correct. You didn’t talk trash. You gave credit where credit was due. But you explained the motivations of each influencer and how it has damaged the quality of the UFC franchise all culminating in UFC 5 which took the longest to develop with the least amount of changes. The UFC community is fed up with being sold a UFC 4 update and having people that are affiliated with EA tell us how awesome it is.
I typically don't wish decline, but the only way this format changes is if the game has low sales and online player counts drop. When that happens, I guarantee within 1 quarter, EA allocate the budget to pay an actual team to implement high effort features.
