I would have liked to ask Amis why he peppered “The Zone of Interest” with so many German words, phrases & whole paragraphs with no translation. Sometimes I could figure out at least approximately what they meant, based on the context, but more often I just read past the German. I guess I could have googled the German, but that would take a lot of time.

When did 'if you buy this book you can't take it home and we are charging post and packaging' become a good idea? (I know he is dead) This the nail in his coffin.

Now every writer is churning out woke w.ank tosh, like the art galleries in London, everything is about the strong black woman, that and gender!
