We starting watching Dr Martin a few months ago and this series is very addictive....We can't get enough of it. All the characters are wonderful and quirky at the same time....Please keep it going, we would be broken hearted to see it stop! Martin and Louisa have the best chemistry ever... Poor Dr Martin was never loved as a child,so to try and change him would be quite difficult, but maybe bend him just a little for Louisa's and baby James Henry sake. We love all of your episodes, fantastic acting on everyone's parts! Love, Love, Love your series!!! Thanks for entertaining us! Jayne & Mike Grove
I think it is great the way they get along. They seem like they have a lot of fun together. He makes her laugh and that is always a very good sign. I have never seen them interact before, when I saw them she was talking with the interviewer separately from him. However, together they make a good team. Ha, I guess they feel the same way they have been together a long time. Good for them.
We have been watching Doc Martin for several years and love it. Love Cornwall. Love the lady in the drug store, love Louisa, a perfectly darling girl who seems right for dumb Doc Martin. The baby arriving is perfect too.Keep up the great work!!! Wilhelms in USA
I love Doc Martin and hope it continues for as long as possible! It's so refreshing and heart warming, it's like I never get bored watching it over and over...I hope that in future shows we see more interaction between Martin and James Henry. I would absolutely love to see that!
The girl who plays his receptionist is called Morwenna, and as MClunesfan says when Martin chased the man dressed as a woman it was in Doc Martin the Movie. The other Doc Martin Movie was called "Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie."
My hubby started watching first and he was laughing so I had to see what was so funny. I was immediately hooked, too, and we've watched every day since. I ordered all the DVD'S (7) plus the two movies that got the series going. I like to knit when I watch TV but can't Ik thism program I'll miss something
If you have a chance, read Clunes' autobio about his love of dogs. An interesting read where he writes about his first marriage and meeting Philippa. Most interesting that I love in the chapter about Gremlin, the grungy dog who tortured Doc. According to Clunes, Gremlin was so sensitive that they had to "mime" Doc yelling at him and then put in the sound afterwards. Clunes loved Gremlin.
@jharker45 Yes, his father was an actor and his grandparents were in showbiz also. His mother worked for Orson Welles and was board member of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Nice very Nice. thank you for sharing. I think the Doc put in a little spoiler in there when he said he chased men dressed like women on the beach in the show. I don't remember seeing that. Is that an episode that's coming up?
Yes it sure looks true. Wow. When they were sitting on the cliff and the helicopter was taking off “What a Kiss and a I love you. Wonderful loving entertaining movie.
Not thrilled with season 10. So Martin’s phobia is him trying to hide his emotions? We’ve watched the show over and over for years, and that doesn’t even fit. It looked like they just threw episodes together to pacify viewers and fans. Martin’s eventual change of character at the end, would’ve fit better in episode 1, so we could have 1 season without him yelling “stop talking” and insulting people. I thought an interesting plot would’ve been Danny coming from London, and announcing James Henry to be HIS son! Hilarious!!
