I just watched this again and find his weight loss in his face quite troubling. I hope all is well and he is not sick. He doesn't look like the old Martin!
I live in Port Isaac and have a had a few parts as an extra (also a double for the lady in the chemist that loves Martin, I feel very privileged that I was along side Dame Eileen Atkins in that scene too) although it was cut, it was Martin and Caroline myself and Dame Eileen only in that scene on the cliff tops when the baby was stolen ! pity as we worked hard for 2 hours running up those Cliffs :-)

When I returned to filming after a bout of illness early in the shoot people said some sweet things to me about hoping I was feeling better because they’d heard I had been ill. “I had a viral infection which left me with no stamina. I couldn’t cross a room, couldn’t walk the dogs certainly, and couldn’t really eat, so I had to take a couple of weeks off.
He is just so lovely isn't he? He invites everyone to come to the fair, he said 12,000.00 people have been there. He doesn't look as thin as he did in some of the photos from Cornwall, though I like him with more weight also. He has such a pleasant personality it seems. That little stool was just too cute. I wish it were possible to meet him one day, but alas... that will never happen I won't be going to England anytime soon. MC is just a fabulous looking man without a doubt.
Thank you for all you do to keep those of us in the United States get the Doc Martin series here. Yesterday I signed up with ACORN - they'll be showing episode 1 of Series 6 beginning October 7th and selling the DVD in the states in January 2014. Thanks again.
I have watched every episode of Doc Martin and can"t wait for the new one. I thought the weight loss was very appropriate considering what was going on with the great Doc and his love Louisa. Sorry if I misspelled her name. I actually watch the series multiple times and I tell everyone that they should watch it because I consider it one of the greatest shows. America also loves this unsmiling Doctor and hopes for many more episodes!
I live in the States but have friends who live in Bognor Regis, I may have to visit them next fall and plan on attending the fair. I do so love the Dr.Martin series and will be patient til season 6 hits the States.
MClunesfan, I had no doubt you would know about his health. I wonder if there will be a video online of the fair? There is one from the 2011 fair, so I hope someone will post the video from yesterday. He had a serious viral infection but is doing great now. One correction, the new series starts on the 2nd of September. His Buckham Fair was yesterday and he looked great. He did extra personal training before DM and lost a lot of weight but the illness made him lose even more.
Usually from fans in the UK. I also asked friends on my MC/DM Facebook page to let me know. I'm guessing he'll be back on the morning shows again soon. It looks like DM will air in the UK on September 3rd.

Thanks again for your dedication. Do you think he's ill? They said he had a viral infection and lost a stone, which is 14 pounds but it seems like more. That was in the article on series6blogspot. I am sure you would know if anything is wrong with him and would let us know. So no worries, right?
