Talent is a strange, invisible thing. A few minutes with this man at a pub or on the street, and you'd never know he has written some of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
You couldn't have written that better! I know it was 2 years ago, but I was just scrolling through all of their old stuff and I absolutely adore Martin Gore. He is so talented.
When Martin talks about the loneliness and solitude sound of songs, it's like he's reading my mind. I don't either like really happy songs 'cause I've always felt they are fake somehow. However, I do like the word melancholy :)
Really love this man, and he did well in the interview!! He seemed so soft spoken and polite!! One of the favorite songs are "Dreaming Of You" from the early 80's!
I adore Martin's talent for over 30 years know. Together with Alan Wilder they were a magical combination. Actually all four of them till Alan left the band, to my opinion. I always thought Martin was in some sort of dreamy mood, but since I heard of his social shyness, I even respect him much more. Consider this while playing for full arena's, screaming women and men (ofcourse 😉). I had the tremendous luck to meet him at an after party / meet after a concert and had a chat for a few minutes and two kisses on cheek 🤗. He gave me a sateh from the buffet that was arranged for a few fans. It was lovely and naturally. Dave wasn't around back then. This interview is exactly how he is, pure and humble. And his heart for music. I rather have a husband like he, then someone who come crushing into my little world 😉, shake me up and leave. Depeche Mode is somewhat my diary. Even their worst songs are quite okay. Much credit and respect for them. After all these years, they still rock and sure know how to give a party playing live.
You're so lucky if he even touched my pinky with his pinky I'd faint! I don't think I could ever recover from meeting him, his songs melt my heart! Especially The Bottom Line from Ultra 😍🫠
Yes dear, I know what you mean, me myself I don't get really excited about contemporary music either. It's not just about getting old, I think it is a whole different mentality nowadays. You are a sincere person and a very talented singer and songwriter. Much more value to that then the vulgar cheap artists and videos from the nillies. 🍀💖👋 God bless you Martin 🙏🌷💝
Finds is hard 'following' a bank now! Martin we all feel this way! There just is not the talent quite like you and others these days! We are looking back on you and others from the eighties (and sixties) longingly. Look to England for the best music ever, this is for sure!!
Possibly why they had such a success. I imagine it would've been quite hard for them to function if he was an arrogant prick, considering they had 2 non-composing, non-player members

Noticed he was looking at the camera and with that smile, it's like letting the people know look at my new teeth they look good and I know they prob feel better than the ones you had but it wouldn't be depence mode from the 80s if you didn't have them crooked teeth it was like a trademark of the band loved them then and love them now, thanks

@@darkmantis69 No, I don´t mean his accent. He definetely sounds different, since he has new teeth. Especially the 's' and the 'f'. The air goes differently past the teeth. You can hear it very often from people with tooth crowns at their front teeth. And he obviously has all of his teeth with crowns.

He doesn't open his mouth much when he talks, and he opened it even less when he still had those janky-ass teeth. The way he talks now doesn't sound any different than the way he spoke before the new teeth.
