He said the day he decided to retire was when a young woman approached him after class and asked “wait, you’re saying the civil war happened in America? What country were we fighting?“ I think he could tell it was just a matter of time before they’d put a giant dick monument to a civil rights hero on Boston common and decided to die before he’d have to try explaining it to curious out of towners
