Had MLK and X been allowed to peacefully lead black, brown, and sympathetic whites to create a powerful voting block, it's plausible that such a grouping could have even created some sort of social democratic party, which could have swept the elections in the late 1960s. But acts of state, surveillance of King and X, seem to have conspired to stop their noble pursuits, rather than help them. Dr. King started to see the deeper problems in America and beyond, which seeded and sowed the seeds of racism, which kept people of color subjugated in the USA and around the world, which was quickly becoming saturated by America's imperialist sphere of influence. Two years after the assassination of Malcolm X, Dr. King identified "the three evils" in 1967. By this point, Dr. King had clearly made the guns-and-butter connections about the military-industrial complex. Dr. King had become an anti-capitalist and an anti-imperialist. And, to this day, not many Americans are willing to confront these evils. Too many of us thought the problem of racism would go away, if we turn a blind eye. We were wrong. We, Americans, still have a lot to learn from the insights and the experiences of Dr. King and Malcolm X.
I grew up during the civil rights and we would gather around our neighbors TV to listen or the radio. Even the school would show Dr King when he was speaking. What he said then and what is going on now is still relevent. Being older now it is amazing to me the AGE of this man in his working for civil rights. How many 30 yrs olds are even aware!!!! He was truly great in not only what was achieved but in his ability to have LAWS made so that many could have a better life. Without a gun how mighty was his will!

+william carter That's true but a disease, by definition , is a particular ABNORMAL condition (a disorder of a structure or function) that affects part or all of an organism. Not liking someone because of their color is an abnormal function (no one is born racist--we are brought in this world, baseline, to love everyone) and the disorder affects the human's ability to do what is normal, to love everyone regardless of race and the fear/racism is almost like a cancer anyway--hard to get rid of, multiplies at a high rate and almost cripples the organism in itself. People are TAUGHT to be racist, not born racist, thus they are introduced to something that causes an aberration from normalcy, yet some diseases you can be born with--but you are still introduced to something that changes "normalcy". That's what I mean. Something doesn't have to be a virus, or cancer to be a disease, it just has to fit the definition. You are entitled to your opinion, but I hope this clears things up👍🏾

I am now 56 years old. Became homeless after the amputation of my feet, just over there years now I have been homeless. I give thanks to God for this man Mr King very good and wise man. He is so right to say that we must get our own house in order, what he means is our own hearts and minds. This government wants us to be their prisoner by the controlling of our minds. I get around in a wheelchair on the streets that the true loving God has given us. I am at war with my own country, my battles are no longer mine but the creator of this all. As for racism, it was the Lord who put me in this white body, just as He put the soul of my neighbor in their body. As for poverty it was not the will of my Father but man is the taker of things. The wiser a man becomes the more sorrows he will have. All we can do now is wait for the true judgement to come down from Heaven, as we get our houses in order

In just a few words, he says what few dare to say and that is that the western economic system is evil in its exploitation of the weak. Where corporations get more from the state than the starving. Where they pretend they are private enterprises and get more from the public purse than the hungry and dispossesed. Where the public pays the tax bill for the collapse of the capitalist model in 2008. Where Amazon pays its workers a pittance and they take a plastic bottle to work to pee in as going to the toilet is penalized. Where investors cry like hyenas when the bell goes on Wall Street for another's days trading to pass on the fruits of their exploitation to their stockholders. The same people who mouth insanities about defending freedom when they do no know what it means other than their freedom to abuse and exploit others. Are these people human? Morally speaking no. They belong to a sub-species for which a collective name has yet to be invented. They are not even animals, because animals look after their own.
