Ha ha ha "I might go out mow with it tomorrow " I nearly coughed coffee out me nose , I was just havin a sip 😅 love how close to the Grouse you can get,,,, they trust you so much. That's true nature love ❤ and you're Jay birds 🐦 are just the cutest little puppies 🐶 gr8 video Martin 🍻😎👍
I always enjoy your entertainment & company of the wild birds. Once a baby Mockingbird got separated from it's parents. It was so hungry & stranded at a Walmart. It begged me to help it, so I'd taken it home with me & fed it with a eyedropper. She grew & thought I was her parent. What joy & entertainment & company she'd become. Four months later flying & being very vocal following me everywhere, a Chicken Hawk flew down & taken her. What grief... But watching you delight in nature reminds me of her. Bird's come to me also.
Getting that close to a wild grouse is unusual to say the least. That bird had no fear of you; but you know, they can sense an enemy and the grouse knew you, that you were a caretaker. These videos are tops and watching Martin "MacGyver" improvise is, in itself, added color to the views. Thanks.
That birdie at the beginning; "Man, this thing is really stuck there! Success!" :) That mower got me little worried, would be a good idea to have some sort of shield under that thing, just in case if that blade decides to come off, so that it doesn't fly and hit the legs.
My family and i LOVE your videos😊Have you ever thought about making a discreet camouflaged tool shed further down your trails where you can store some of your chainsaws and stuff so the bears don't eat your gas tanks?
Love that Brush cutter Martin. Looks like it was built in the 40s . It's 8 below Celsius here in northern ontario with about 4 inches of snow. Lakes are just starting to freeze over. Probably another month before it's safe enough to get to my cabin on the island. Thanks for bringing us along, love your cabin.
That mower sure is a great weed chopper. We had one that was something like your mower and wore it out chopping weeds out in the middle of the woods to make trails like you are doing. Just be careful as it sure cut good. Watching your video with a good cup of coffee and enjoying both. Love your videos. God bless.
Dear Martin if the cutting head on your mower will rotate 90 degrees you may have a power saw from the earlier days of] pulpwood cutting blade spinning horizontal for felling and vertical for bucking to length. Thanks for the videos. Darrell.
Way to go MacGyver! Next weeks episode, Martin will show us how to make a satellite dish out of a tuna fish can and some Barbwire. Necessity is the mother of invention! Well done!
Those birds must love you Martin. I've always wondered what you did for a career and when watching you with the mower gave the answer to me, you must have worked for OSHA, right ? Stay safe my friend.
Martin, the human bird feeder. Bear resistant and squirrel proof. Throw away? Are you crazy, I have a 1962 P-38 C-Ration can opener still in its original paper wrapper label with instructions. How about a can of 1953 ham and lima beans? Dad had a huge mower thing with a 28 inch buzz saw blade on the front. The wheels were like 26 inch garden tractor tires.
I don’t think you are obsessive. I knew a guy in Albemarle N.C. who owned a music store. Much of the first floor and all of the second floor was covered in hundreds of working model trains, wall shelves full of boxes of trains and parts, hundreds of lanterns and oil lanterns hanging on the ceiling plus a couple of dozen large model airplanes. He was named Jimmy Brown. (Not the big name Jimmy Brown) He loved music and trains. I like anything thing with an engine. Look up the Southeast Old Threshers Reunion sometime or Denton Farm Park, Denton, N.C. You can see Jimmy’s at Albemarle Super Train Set and Hobby Room.
That looks very similar to our Roof mower. A previous owner modified it with a 7 hp Wisconsin engine. It will go through 4 foot tall weeds or small trees at a brisk walk without pulling down.
I went to high school with MacGyver. He was a couple years younger than me. Back in Ramsey HS in Roseville MN. I don't think he knew how to fix anything really. Richard Dean Anderson
Ok Martin, come clean, I find it hard to believe that’s coffee, does Vonnie have a world famous home brew. By the way I have used her cherry pie dough recipe for all kinds of mixtures from mince meat to blueberries. Keep up the utube……..
Another awesome video your gray J's definitely are cool they definitely like you as well Your macgyvering skills are pretty good But I highly suggest when you go back home pick up a chain break tool from park tools that would definitely help out and a couple spare pins or a couple of spare links Your spruce grouse is fantastic very calm them with you Metal detecting can be quite calmly until you find a gold nugget of epic proportions and have a heart attack right there on the spot All in all I would say another excellent video take care
And l thought ld seen about everything! Duct tape on a chain. Beats my piece on car tire . An bent aluminum to hold a spark plug in on a mini bike. When l was 11 or 12 ?
That piece of equipment is the great grandfather of the DR trimmer what year was it made do you know? Not sure I would trade my 61 Ford in for it, though…
New friend? Ms. Grouse or a very old friend she ignored you.... I know the males think you are part the breeding repertoire or ritual. Cotter pins are good, sailors use them too. Thanks
Martin, what type of camera and microphone do you use for your video's? Also, I've noticed a few bush craft types on RU-vid wearing that same style of pants. Can you tell me what's special about those pants?
