Martina McBride performs "Happy Girl" live at the Farm Aid concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 3rd, 1998. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I can see why she is dubbed the “Celine Dion of Country Music”! She possesses the same confidence, boldness, and ease of singing along with reminiscent power, conviction, precision, and delivery of Celine! Martina is a phenomenon. Love her! She’s one of my favorites many times over!! 😍😍

My dear friend ..may he rest in peace,..helped save my sanity and life one night,..after I had spent the day curtains drawn, alone, depressed and crying,.. It was June 1998,..the very next day this song came on the radio in my car,..and I sang as loud as I could with her,..because I meant it!!! Thank you Tom Senner,,..though you have left this earth...you are an angel to me as much now as you were then. xo

I enjoy how this song (the single version released to radio, specifically) incorporates the Penny Whistle from Ireland, the Bag Pipes from Scotland, the Accordion from France, and the traditional Country Fiddle from here in America.
