What, i can curl 50 kg one hand, Licis could hit at least 70 kgs. With both hands he could curl at least 90 kg, strict. So, weight of light women is a joke. Not even a warm-up.
@@matta1966 What you can and can't do is of no consequence. Of course he can bicep curl more. It's more about the acceleration of the lifts and the ease with which he did them. Note the bit where I mentioned a mannequin. But please, feel free to continue a thinly veiled attempt to compare yourself in a favourable light to one of the world's strongest men.
@@stormbringer5826 you have no idea what you are talking about. Clearly, you have never been to the gym. For the last time: I can curl my wife (50 kgs) 15-20 times, strict. So, for a guy who is stronger than me, such weight is NOTHING. Do you need simpler examples, you are really that stupid? STFU and go train. For strongman curling lightweight girl it's a fuckin joke, not a feat of strength. Feat would be one arm press or one arm snatch with more than 60 kg, which some guys can do.
Functional strength is just marketing. More strength mean you are more functional that's the truth. Some guys think guys lifting huge weights aren't functional.
@@damnman5113 I always thought functional strength just meant being strong doing certain movements, like punching. So a bodybuilder might be able to outlift me on everything but I could punch much harder since I’ve practiced that movement a lot more
@@bonerprime4010 Functional strength meant being able to do ordinary tasks with ease like. Like you see a huge ass stone in the middle of the road, You pick it up and throw it on the side. Now a days functional strength has become a marketing scheme that forces people to no lift heavy and also forces them do shit exercises that has nothing to do with functionality.
A lot of people forget about core because strongmen don’t do much abdominal lifts, but the external obliques are a part of your core and are required in a bunch of balance movements
Yeah, he comes across as easy going and very likable. Of all the WSM winners he's the one I think would be the most fun to hang with..... That and Jon Paul Sigmarsson.
@@gamehunter8812 It is very hard to do, but it really strongly favours light athletes with very strong grip, more climbers and sprinters than strongmen
I'm a big dude. 6' and 195 lbs. Been training 8+ years. My man has 150 pounds more than my 1RM deadlift on the bar, and squats it for 4 reps. That on its own is ridiculous. Then you realize he doesn't even have a rack ☠️
Double overhand deads are money for grip strength. Best double overhand for me was 465 @ ~170, best mixed was 500. I always do double overhand until my grip gives on weight or reps
Is there any other way of doing double overhand grip? I see Cailer Woolam deadlifting double overhand in comps with 420kg etc. Where the difference comes from?
@@gamesplayerist many powerlifters use hook grip, so when they do the double overhand, they are compressing their thumbs between their fingers and the bar, painful, I never use. So double overhand is your thumb over the backs of your fingers or around the bar and hook is between the bar and your fingers. It’s important to not train with straps so your grip is always comfortably strong and increasing.
@karel .... It's almost like building up a callus. Not an exact comparison but your thumbs which will likely hate hook grip at first will get better at tolerating it as you continue to work with the grip and build your weight used over time. I don't know if it deadens the nerves or what precisely the mechanism is, just that it's so. Basically use the hook grip with the thumbs compressed as you work up to your top set and then shift to your regular grip at the point out becomes too much and over a period of 6 months or so you'll be able to get further and closer to your top set without swapping over to your usual grip... Then one time you'll be there. You won't have to swap. Also added to your deadlifts, once a week just practice hanging your weight from a bar with hook grip for duration. I imagine Cailler Woolams thumbs are about indestructible by now.
You're missing one cool one, where Martins is with Tom and Juji and picks up a whole like 40 foot long balance beam and presses it with one hand overhead, and then walks across another balance beam
@@zzzzzz1039 I don't honestly know. He deserves way more recognition. He certainly never shouted about his feats. Like him a lot . Good all round athlete
The 17 pullups were pretty rad. He extended all the way unlike some RU-vidr's who like to cheat and say, "look, I got 30 reps!" Yeah, but not a single one would count.
1:09 Dude.... WHAT? 300 pounds L sit rope climb, pistol Squats, one hand push-ups, these are things very few people can do let around a 300 pound monster
You know how people tear biceps doing the deadlift? That one handed one he did he actually pulled up with just his arm and it immediately made me think of that. He is a monster though, just truly strong throughout
He’s huge, the fact that he can do explosive and flexibility based movements makes me want to scream at the unfairness of it all. How is he gifted. At. Everything. Also how is his ass so nice like wtf.
