Not judging by any means...but man, what a fall from grace. If you go back and listen to his promos from the 90s, he sounds like a completely different human/person. Tragic what alcohol and drugs do to a person and the vicious cycle that it creates. I wish him well.

I worked an independent show in Binghamton with Marty Jannetty, great guy, don't know about his demons, had a beer with me, had a little party afterwards, treated me with respect, cool guy as far as I'm concerned. As far as a worker, in the ring. It was a great show, the fans were satisfied, enjoyed every minute of working with him. The first time I've ever seen a quadruple cross face. Mind you, I was just a manager, but it was fun to work with him.

Not that I’m condoning nor condemning this, but Marty himself admitted that, due to the pain in his ankles, he drinks because he’s unable to get pain medication-this isn’t the type of pain that Tylenol can fix. It was obvious that Marty was under the influence of something during this interview-he was noticeably slurring his speech and forgetting about what he’d said.
