Love Is Blue Blue, blue, my world is blue. Blue is my world since I'm without you. Grey, grey, my life is grey. Cold is my heart since you went away. Red, red, my eyes are red. Cryin' for you alone in my bed. Green, green, my jealous heart I doubted you, and now we're apart When we met How the bright sun shone Then love died Now the rainbow is gone Black, black, the nights I know. Longing for you so lost and alone. Gone, gone, the love we knew. Blue is my world since I'm without you.
Marty is in Hall of fame, quite big i think ;) written over 500 songs, superstars jim Reeves and Merle Haggard had Marty as their favorite artists...and Elvis presley sung his songs......Its difficult to be a bigger star then this. haha
I am 61 and if "this is music" I'm going to consider elective surgery to have my ears removed. Syrupy-sweet, maudlin, leaden, cringey. This melody is great... until you add these lyrics.
My mama taught me a little piano before I took to the violin. I found this song and learn to play it. My mama passed on April 5th from Corvid 19. I know when it comes but waves of grief finds me. I thought of this song.
18 year old. Huge classic country enthisuast who really loves this album. Please give more attention to the song "To Be in Love With Her." It's really underrated and maybe the best song on this album

*¡wow! - "Marty" Robbins (1925 - 1982) was a world war 2 u.s. navy war veteran in the Solomon Islands were he self taught himself to play a guitar!* - 4:48 am Pacific Standard Time on Saturday, 16 January 2021
The album that this is from is Marty at his very best, singing songs like 'That Old Feeling', 'You Made Me Love You', 'As Time Goes By' and 'Am I That Easy To Forget.' It's quite superb and goes a long way to proving that he was the very best vocalist to hit Nashville.
@@eskimoassasin6764 I'm risking sounding like a hipster but if you would stop associating the billboard top 100 with "music today" then maybe we could have a conversation. music is being made by all kinds of people all over the world, and the vast majority of it is done out of passion, not greed.
Perhaps the best arrangement I have heard of this classic song; Marty Robbins's voice is serviceable in this number and the timbre of his voice is pleasing. The sentiment and interpretation of the song is just right. It is low-key and not over-the-top. I like the understated quality of this version because one is sometimes tempted to do too much with this great song. Love is Blue, indeed.
Just when I thought that the late and immeasurably great Marty Robbins had his mournful Tour de Force with Gordon Lightfoot's "Ribbon of Darkness." He then delivers a Masterpiece cover of "Love Is Blue", the Instrumental of which by Paul Mauriat charted at Number One in Billboard for eleven consecutive weeks in 1968. Marty Robbins was just an insanely undervalued Entertainer!🤔😉🎤🎼🎵🎸🎹🥁🎻B.W.
I remember this song won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1963 or 1964 (or circa that period), sung by a French female singer. It is a beautiful song which is difficult to forget. I was probably about 8 or 9 years old ...
hermosa voz y hermosa composicion jamas pense sentirme identificada , todo gracias al toca disco de mi padre tuve la oportunidad de deleitar su hermosa voz :)
I heard this song on the radio when i was a child of 4 or 5 yrs old and i have loved it since.I always thought it was so soothing also the instrumental version.

I had never heard of any version (or at least it never registered) until the instrumental version (guessing it's Paul Murat) came on the radio the other day. The DJ said there were three versions in the charts in 1968! Based on that I was compelled to search the internets.
