Every car maker progresses to making newer better bigger cars. So did Maruti Suzuki, it graduated to Alto and Zen which are definitely better than 800, this does not mean that 800 was a failure.
Engine, on road services all are smooth even today, though build quality is very poor, but in road never disappointed the owners, particularly poor owners, and this is the most plus point for Suzuki.
In my opinion the only reason they stopped the production of M800 was that it was affecting the sales of their other higher priced cars. Indians, rich or poor, want a cheap solution where maintenance costs are almost zero . And m800 fitted the bill completely. Also the profit margins for the company in this model might have been really low as it was really affordable for the comman man
Very True. If you look at the average income in India & lowest car price, compare it with say USA, It costs an Indian atleast 10 times more to buy the cheapest car or two wheeler. Clearly the corporate & the governments are more interested in the USA cost & profit while Indians remain poor.
i will still book 800 if they restart the ordinary steering was light n smooth like power steering mileage was another strong plus point compared to premier n ambasador models

M800 was a car from fully Indian company Maruti udyog limited and during the period of year 2010, Suzuki acquired 65% share in Maruti-Suzuki limited. That's why Suzuki scrapped M800 because it was belonging 100% to Indian Maruti Udyog limited. Just look at any logo of M800, you will find Maruti logo on it whereas on other cars like Alto, Zen , WagonR etc you will find Suzuki logo. The only reason of stopping production of M800 was that it did not belong to Suzuki who was 65% shareholder. Now Maruti-Suzuki is over since 2010, now it is only Suzuki Corporation because Suzuki is 65% partner whereas Maruti Udyog is just 35% partner.
@@ashu_thakr after 2010-11, all maruti suzuki vehicles started bearing suzuki logo because till this period, susuki became major partner by acquiring 65% shares so M800 after 2011 will definitely have susuki logo.
@Pankaj Shrike You are completely wrong, Maruti was always a Suzuki Comp, though, initially, Maruti Udyog Limited was theoretically a Govt of India company meant to import CBU completely built units from Suzuki Japan, even then Suzuki had a minority 26% stake. In march 2020, Suzuki has gone up from owning 26% to over 56%. Maruti was never an Indian car, it was always a Japanese Suzuki car.

Build quality is the issue. Now a days people are more contious about the safety.maruti Suzuki should improve there build quality.thats why maruti Suzuki market share is reducing
