3a Mental Arithmetic trick. Draw all the cards you can first. Count how many resources you have = cards in hand plus resources on the table (eg Helicarrier or Super Soldier Serum) + 1 per double resource. Take away the number of cards you want to play. This gives you the total cost of those cards. I can see this last part at a glance so I find it easier than mentally adding one to each card. Eg I am Carol Danvers with a fresh 6 card hand including one double resource and Avengers Tower in play. First I draw a card with commander so I have seven in hand. I have one resource from the Tower plus one double so 7 +1 +1 = 9. I can play one 8 cost card (!) two cards that cost up to 7 three that cost up to 6 or four that cost up to 5 (unlikely). I can usually see at a glance what I my options are at this point. I play solo which simplifies this thank god. 11 Focus fire - possibly too obvious. It's generally best to deal with one threat completely than spread the love out. Completely kill a minion or clear a side scheme before injuring a second/starting to clear a second scheme. It is usually better to scheme for 1 to clear scheme than attack for 2/3 on the villain or a minion (unless you kill it). 12 Deal with anything that will kill you first whatever the cost. Possibly even more obvious. The trick is identifying the principal threat.

Thats a really good one, I think I considered it for its own point in the video but it was a case of how I framed it, if you think of them being applied in some ways as a free turn then it gives perspective to how strong they can be.

Yes this is a very different game to approach mulliganing so I don't blame you for not doing much of it but when you have cards that are also resources the water gets very muddy.

It can be difficult and it can definitely be swingy, especially if you're playing solo, playing Justice can give you a bit of a security blanket in terms of being overwhelmed by scheming and Leadership allies can give you more options for dealing with and keeping on top of incoming damage, although the ally card pool for most of the aspects is rounding out quite nicely now. As long as you're enjoying the game still then just keep at it.

So at the very least the first time you run a particular villain/scenario be sure to defeat the level 1 (if on standard) version of the villain at the start of your turn so you have time to react to any level up triggers the villain and/or scenario throw at you.

Echoing the original reply here. Defeat the villain at the start of your turn (if at all possible) so that you can react to the upgraded villain stage, which many times includes a side scheme and increased attack/scheming.
