Its important to understand the fundamental differences of each aspect, tell me which is your favourite and which are you eager to make for you?

New to the game, but what I love most up front is the replay ability and how different each hero/game can play based on the core themes used. Plus the different villain scenarios can alter the difficulty so well.

Yep its definitely got that going for it, I think because the signature cards are powerful but don't dominate the deck in terms of numbers means that you really can plug and play the different aspects with different identities as much as you want. I'm actually thinking about a guide on scenario difficulties so watch this space. Glad to have you as part of the Marvel Champions community!

I love this game, love this vid, great content. Subbed. I recently started picking this game up and so far enjoying the dr strange deck. Started wondering about customising and so far not really seeing that appeal yet. I tend to break things down for myself and so far I rather just "make" aspect builds and apply those randomly to hero decks to get a different play each time.

Well thank you very much, I'm glad you're enjoying the game....and the content 😉 Dr. Strange was and is so much fun because a) he iss strong and b) the invocation deck is a nice change of pace/direction. Its funny because I'm brewing some ideas for plug and play aspect decks, its not perfect because of the tech cards required for different scenarios, but as the amount of cards available now is so big it can be time consuming getting the "best" deck for every hero/villain setup.

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite aspect because each has something I really enjoy. If I were forced to pick it would probably be justice. Daredevil is my favorite hero so that’s the only place to play him, but I also like true different play styles that have come about with the spy keyword/preparations, more attack cards in justice, or just plain old thwarting justice.

They say variety is the spice of life 😉 so yes I pretty much agree and to be fair what you're getting with the different aspects is mechanical flavour as opposed to the identities that bring both that and thematical flavour so in some ways the aspects are just a means to end. That being said the different playstyles they force you to adopt do do a great job of providing that extra level of replayability that was promised. I suspect the larger the card pool becomes the more homogenisation will occur as you've suggested and so long as each aspect retains it own identity that can only be a good thing for the growth of the game.

My favorite aspect is Justice! One of my favorite things about it is that I can defeat side schemes and nemesis schemes the turn they come out so that I don't have to put up with their negative effects, and I can afford to take a turn or so as my alter ego and not have to worry about the pile of threat on the main scheme that will be there when I come back. It's a shame my favorite Marvel character (Nova) is Protection!

Lots of people seem to have a preference, I enjoy the comfort Justice gives me playing solo, keeping on top threat is a higher priority then, but I wholeheartedly agree with you about side schemes, if one is on the table for more than a turn its like its an affront to me personally 😀 But mostly it just depends what mood I'm in what aspect I enjoy playing, I don't always enjoy the most obvious choice for an identity though, I think thats fair to say. Interesting I don't know much about Nova, not that I'm a Marvel expert, more of an armchair fan but incidentally I've also got Nova in miniature form for the old Knight Models game. You never know somewhere down the line, bearing in mind each identity can be played with every aspect, they might even reprint allies in different aspects, or maybe even tweak the deck construction rules to recruit an ally from another aspect in to your deck.

If I'm on a budget, would it be a better idea to buy packs with cards from the same aspect (say Hulk and Thor, who both have aggression cards) or to buy packs with cards from different aspects (say Hulk's aggression and Cap's leadership) for variety?

Thats an interesting question, part of the appeal of MC is that each of the aspects are interchangeable with each of the identities, which only adds to replayability. To add to this although it can be a challenging game its not a meta-dependant one and its co-operative to boot, in other words its rarely necessary to have access to the whole card pool of one particular aspect to enjoy the game and/or be good at it. That being said if you've already dabbled with each of the aspects and you have a clear favourite then it could still be worth you cherry picking the expansion packs as you've suggested.

@@DicevsCards Thanks, yeah, I only played competitive games before where the usual plan was to simply buy everything that seems good because you don't know what you need. But in solo, I think it may be good enough even if not running best meta so long as I can consistently beat the villains. Any advice on which packs to get for the best aspect and basic cards? (Best hero is already covered in many videos)

I didn't get Valkyrie in my core pack, am I missing a card?

Unfortunately Valkyrie was printed in the Thor expansion pack and wasn't found in the core set.
