This is an additional event format and challenge to the others that they currently offer. This event format does not replace anything and the other types are still available to participate in. So as i see it, it is good they add new formats for us to use and play around with if we wants to, and why they have a min number of 32 players is because this format is made for big events. Use it if you like it, if not use other format :). Choices is a good thing to have.
I definitely agree more formats is a good choice overall, my main gripe here is that it's expected to be used for the major competitive AMG run events, which I don't think it's particularly well designed for, but I'd love to see more alternate formats pop up, I just prefer the competitive ones to be a little more open.
@@ZetroxWargaming Maybe it is to be expected to be used, specially at AMG events but other then that it will be up to the organizer to chose what format they use. I can't see that many will pick it up to use if they not want to shake things up big time on their event. If this not become popular i cant see it being used outside AMG own events.
@@ZetroxWargamingyeah, definitely a neat idea. It’s just asking a lot in terms of money and transport. I just think if a sanctioned Magic event required multiple decks to play (in any format), the cost restriction alone would be prohibitive.
I don't mind the concept of the restricted list. I think what they cut and the tournament format decisions don't really make sense. I won't participate in this kind of event at like Adepticon but if a local puts one together I would be okay playing in it for grins.
30 models to enter is like caring an army. I like the game because of the theme, but here we have a timeline event and it's just a set of restricted rules with no flavour. Where have the other factions gone? Meh seems like a money grab pushing people to buy more models. I only say that because they haven't given us any reasons or storyline to go with the rules.
They did apparently state somewhere it supposed to be a kinda "Earth's mightiest theme" where it's the defenders of earth and the more earthly villains, hence no guardians or black order or Asgard, but it still feels extremely small (no hulk?!), that said, I don't know if it could really be a money grab considering it's intended for the huge events where most of the participants probably already own over half the stuff in the game anyways, and I'm not sure if I can see very many people actively buying new sets of models just to play this format that's realistically not likely to have more than a few events per year. That's not to say nobody will, but I don't think it's going to be a significant sales bump in any way.
