yeah, but this is just overwatch, not a hero shooter with actual heroes. not joking, the difference would be if marvel did what overwatch did and made a different game based on the genre. this is just overwatch and overwatch is dead
Everyone is talking about how much they ripped off of Concord, but I think the real robbery is how much they ripped off the Avengers. I mean, they literally called him "iron man". They aren't even trying to hide it.
You can sense exactly how long game development takes by counting the seconds between a genre dying and Marvel Studios jumping in, like measuring a thunderstorm.
@@nickp8041except not really because OW2 still has a pretty large playerbase, but then again so do all those gacha games so it really isn't a sign of quality
Namor in game looks nothing like og Namor tho. Idk why they'd try to change his character, it makes sense for a bunch of people who are constantly underwater to be pale AF, new guy just looks odd.
@@ordgaming4189 because most modern people who know about Namor know him from Black Panther 2, which has a very different take on him that this one is clearly Inspired by
@@Jerbear9205 its just the name, but in evangelion its an outfit that helps pilots synchronize with their (not)mechs, something about collecting data from the body or somesuch its never explained.
My dad died a couple months ago but there's one piece of advice he left me with that I will never forget. Never go to Charades night at Tony Stark's house
if it means that the guy ulted 3 people without his team being nearby to play off of the ult, i.e it was a stun or something, it kinda makes sense. like how you'd want to push together with your team, so if you solo in and waste your ult it'd accomplish nothing. yeah idk ...
So true, but OW does deserve credit for going wayyyy beyond the scope of TF2 characters. Like at least they came up with original ideas for playstyles and movesets. Marvel Rivals doesn't even try to do anything slightly original. It's nearly a 1:1 copy.
@@hrothgarnogar 1:1 copy bro say that to the comic book . all i can say you need to just play it if you hate ow right now you will hate it even more LMAO.
After trying diff characters and settling on groot being my favorite I had to adjust my volume settings for this game…. It really is every couple seconds of him saying “I AM GROOT”
@@slackolantern dunkey's forspoken video from last year had about a second of forspoken and then the rest of the 5 minute video was just him playing spiderman 2 for the ps2 lol
my favorite kind of dunkey jokes is when hes talking about a game but shows footage of a game that isnt the one hes mentioning, but its so similar to the game he mentioned that it doesnt even matter
Playing as Groot is how you really know they nailed making the player feel like they’re a Marvel character because you get to feel like how Gamora felt whenever she was around him in GOTG 3.
cuz OW took a fresh approach to the genre. they didn't make a tf2 clone, they made a game like tf2 but way better. Marvel just made overwatch but with marvel characters, and OW is dead bruh
Don't pretend they ripped that off from Overwatch when Overwatch ripped that off of league and league ripped that of from mobile MOBAs when they reworked their UI It's hard not to call it a rip off when the design philosophy is as broad as "character less, but easy to read at a glance"
@@anbacan962The saddest part is that Concord has nothing to do with Overwatch. It's a Destiny PvP rip-off. So much frothing hate for that game that even Dunkey is getting it mixed up.
@@KIager Closer to Quake really or Unreal. I'm not joking, it had a very simliar feel to that game to me with how floaty jumps are and the way the characters kinda glide instead of walking across the ground. Either way it was just ok. This however, has potential.
@@KIagerI simply can't stand the character designs in Concord it is like if you asked the worst of Tumblr and Twitter to make characters. They are all ugly, fat, bland and/or just generally unappealing to look at.
i feel like a kid who loves marvel will absolutely love this game and all of its ideas not knowing what came before it and how much of its identity is borrowed from previous games, just like i did with overwatch (1, the good one) back in the day
Same as Overwatch borrowed from TF2? Honestly, who the hell cares if some idea were copied, if the end product is great? I'm not a Blizzards lawyer to care about their IP integrity.
Game is straight up better than overwatch in every way, yes better than that unbalanced cess pool that was ow on release. But the thing is, it was fun, and idk if you've touched this game, but it is a straight organized chaos pizza party.
Overwatch at least had stellar graphics/animation and incredibly tight ganeplay, it actually improved on a few aspects of TF2. Marvel Rivals feels like a mobile game, everyone is running around like headless chickens spamming abilities just waiting for their ult so they can get 2-3 completely unearned instakills.
@@KIager I can't believe you enjoyed OW. The game had one thing going for it. The NSFW crap and that was it. And there is more team building here than that. It has actual teamup combos for God sake! with buffs, and new moves unlocking when you pick certain combos of characters. Just say you disliked it cause you got beat a bunch and felt angry it happened. It happens dude. I've got mad at games before, but I've never flat out lied to make myslef feel better.
Namor is better than Aquaman at least in the comics. He came first and is considered the first mutant, as one of the five Namor the Submariner fans my soul hurts.
they had an entire roster of crazy unique characters with interesting abilities and threw it all away to see which ones where they could make blatant, soulless copies of overwatch characters all it does is make me want to replay ultimate alliance, which actually has marvel characters in it
Idk man, it's not like Overwatch heroes are like crazy unique. They have some pretty basic abilities like: shoot small bullets fast, shoot big bullets slow, be small get big, build wall, explode, spin around and shoot, build turret. Like this is some unoriginal shit. And that's not a complaint. It's just that the abilities are so basic, you can't really be mad when someone includes the same ones in their game.
The most important part is that the game is incredibly fun. I've been hearing about how fun it supposedly is but it REALLY started making sense once I started playing it 2 days ago. 10 hours into the game (which for me is a lot in 2 days) and I've been loving every second of it. Great visuals, amazing characters, cool sound and music. Yeah, it's a little bit janky at times but they still have a lot of time to iron everything out. The only thing that can actively, badly hurt the game are the microtransactions. If the publishers demand for the game to be too grindy or have too expensive microtransactions, that could hurt the game badly... because no matter how fun a hero shooter is, people still usually want to be rewarded with cool cosmetics.
Completely agree, this game is fun as fuck. Love playing it, and makes it better cos at least for now everything is free and feasible to grind for. Rlly hope they don’t spam micro transactions cos this is some of the most fun I’ve had playing a multiplayer shooter in a while.
