And each one is better than their inspiration. This was the most fun I've had with a Pokemon-like game, and it wasn't even from Nintendo. They need to get their shit together. For the largest video game series in the world, it's laughably bad quality.
I just completed the entirety of the Animal Crossing part in one shot. Now I'm kinda sad. I barely remember what was happening in the game before getting sidetracked by Dondoko Island. I don't even remember how I got there.. It was such a pleasant surprise and I had alot of fun. I can't wait to return to Dondoko Island, I miss those guys already.
Funniest part of this video is that Dunkey didn't show the biggest minigame in this one at all which has yet another completely different fishing mode bringing the total to 3
@@theegg8621 yea there's several spots around the island. One of the beaches doesn't have a dock so you just swim out and dive on top of the fishes shadow to catch it.
@@luongk88 ...I 100%'d Dondoko and didn't do this a single time. I swore I remembered reading it in the tutorial, but when I tried to do it (I guess I was at the wrong beach) it didn't seem to work so I thought I'd just read it wrong. Oh my god.
why does all youtube comments start with "I love how/the fact that" ? is everyone an ai in here ? Believe me once you start noticing it you can never unsee it
I love how last month dunkey said that 2023 was the last year he’d be able to beat a game as long as yakuza and here he is 4 videos later playing another yakuza game
Yakuza games are like those discounted ”100 minigames in one video games” that you find buried deep in the bargain bin at game stop. But with funny mafia guys instead
@@kaspergulljensen9665 I hope so. It was just a few months ago that they had announced a game, and I just heard about the one in this video. One or two games a year is too much.
I literally played over 100hrs of this game, and I attempted to get crushed by a car while riding the segway pretty much every time I passed one and could never pull it off. Thank you for the confirmation that it can happen.
@@brohemian Zero, the two kiwami's, you can skip to 6 and read the summary of 3,4 and 5 or you can play it all, then Like a dragon, Gaiden and Infinite Wealth. this is the chronological order.
You brought up palworld as a joke but this game also has palworld in it. When you level up your Dondoko Island resort enough (animal crossing minigame) you eventually unlock a farm where you can make your sujimon work for you to get more materials. It literally has pokemon, pokemon snap, crazy taxi, animal crossing, AND palworld. Oh and Sega Bass Fishing too I guess.
Yeah while people were going all up on Palworld, I was chilling here on Dondoko Island like "What do I need that other game for? I got it right here already! And that game doesn't have the Suji Machine."
Fr wtf I haven’t gotten a tentacle or fin for a good while now. (Context for those who don’t play the game: They are required to craft the best weapons for every job in the game)
@@funnynamelol3156 Yup, every top tier weapon either needs that or a shark fin. Honestly, I didn't even know you could get them from fishing, I only ever got seaweed and frozen fish. Which are still useful for making the best healing items in the game, anyway.
All of the neighborhoods in ALL of the Yakuza games are modeled after real places. Some of the side locations are more generic and made up, like the mountain village in Yakuza 4, but pretty much every locale you've seen in a Yakuza game is roughly analogous to a real place in real life, down to the street locations and even the general restaurants/attractions in the location. Names have been changed (sometimes) and all arcades are SEGA (naturally) but otherwise it's wild how accurate they all are.
I didn't realize just how close Yakuza's Kamurocho was to its real life counterpart (Kabukicho) until I watched one of those videos of someone just walking through the streets and was like "I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THIS IS." I've never been to Hawaii, but playing this game, I can at least say they nailed how streets and houses look in America generally lol
This is my favorite Yakuza/Like a Dragon game now. I genuinely would even go as far as to call it my game of the year even this early into 2024. It’s a fantastic game and a true staple of the series and what makes it so special to its fans. I wish I could recommend it to newcomers, but it truly hits so much harder if you’ve played all the games up to this point and truly gotten to know the characters and their stories, especially for Kiryu. That ending legitimately made me cry and all of that is thanks to how much love and care RGG has put into the Like a Dragon series to truly bring it into our hearts. Also, it’s funny to me how this is the second time we’ve had a Yakuza RPG, Persona remake, and a Final Fantasy 7 remake come out in the same year.
Funny thing as well actually, Uber Eats is also on a billboard sign in the game! You can see it when you walk around Yokohama around the beginning before Ichiban heads off to Hawaii
@@godaro Dunkey sometimes uses other people's footage to comment on something for the sake of the video so you never know. Not saying you're wrong just letting you know.
Wow Dunkey getting Squid Tentacles at 4:20 is pretty crazy. It's a decently rare fishing catch and you need them to craft ultimate weapons for some jobs
doing the dungeons, which you are probably doing anyway if you care about making the ultimate weapons, gives significantly more of the shop tokens than you will ever need to use, even when making an ultimate weapon for every single character in the game. This will also provide you with the money you need to actually make and upgrade the weapons. Fishing the squid tentacles and shark fins is a waste of time as a result.@@theamazinghaihorn3674
the only real spoilers are for a few side missions. there are some very minor spoilers for things that happen very early on in the game, most of which were shown in the trailers anyway@@makito106
I gotta use that line... "You're Bass Fishing Technique is GRREAT!" that'll get me all the Sa Chan's and Sujimons. Thanks Ryan for this easy walkthrough where you learn about life.
I've played Yakuza games before and this still feels like a fucked up fever dream. Can't imagine what anyone who has somehow never heard of the series before is thinking.
I've never played any yakuza games but I have watched every Dunkey video. Every time I watch one of those videos I am wondering how much of this is Dunkey's editing and how much is just the game being silly. The further I am in the video the more I realize that the games are just that wild, random and funny 😂
@@Worufy1 If you enjoy those videos, try looking up "Yakuza without context", there are multiple people who do similar compilations for every Yakuza game and there are so much crazy stuff that each feels unique to some degree.
@@Worufy1 Haha nah that's a common misconception. The main campaign is a serious and extremely good crime drama - but in between missions you've got a mix of extremely well-done games that can sometimes keep you hooked for hours, a ton of goofy side missions and a boatload of minigames. The main story is so so good but it's not common for youtubers and streamers to feel like they're able to talk about the story since it has over 8 games of backstory to remember and is quite violent and dialogue-heavy. It's all just so well-done and amazing though - you're never bored and you never feel like you're forced to do one thing for very long. What's nice is 0, 1 and 2 have all been remade for PS4, 3 4 5 6 have been remastered and 7 8 and Gaiden are all PS5. It's possible to play the whole series on current gen, and it all looks and plays well is what im trying to say
Dunkey, thank you for playing so many games! I always enjoy your humor and your standards. I know if you say a game is good....its definately worth a look!
God bless Japan and SEGA and RRG. It's incredible that a game like this exists and continuous to go this wild with it's sillyness. Even my wife was impressed by how extremely creative and hilarious this looks.
I can't believe they put my favourite arcade Radikal Bikers in this game. That's an instant 10/10 for me. Nintendo might be fuming right now, but it only makes me more excited to collect more Sujimon to my team. Best crab love story since Thok and Mini-Marm. Crab-infused fists can be quite effective in battle. (I know you did the GonGon bit for the meme, but he was absent from the Monkey Ball arcade.)
I'm so glad my main man dunkey was able to release this video despite his little brother controlling the computer, the controller, the series of tubes that make up the internet, and finally, the entire world. Thank you Donkey.
This is one of the only videos that doesn't have weird edits. Reason being, its such a crazy game that he probably had to edit out some of the crazy to fit the Dunkey genre.
Playing through 'Dunkuza 8 Unlimited Money' brings back memories of old victories and introduces hilarious new challenges, making every moment a blast!
My cat unexpectedly died yesterday and I stumbled across your channel at about the same time. Thank you for helping me get through some very heavy shit, Dunkuza.
