Marvel Rivals could be a huge new free to play PVP game on PC, Xbox and PlayStation but has some issues. Let's play and discuss with @TwoAngryGamersTV Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
@@graeme.davidson Games clone each other all the time... the alpha got lots of good reviews from people who got in, as an ALPHA. (i got a key from just paying 12 bucks to a random internet guy hehe). Games good. Idc what it copied.
You have to "justify" him somehow, he is a human facing demigods, usually the scapegoat is to either use super technologies or depict them as buffed as hell... and this time, they used both gimmicks, lol
The two genres that I was always surprised Marvel didn’t get in on is Hero shooters, and a smash bros like game. Now we are getting this, I’ll be curious if we ever get the latter. Especially now that Multiverses seems to be botching it.
It’s been way too long for a traditional fighting game from Marvel on consoles. We need like a Mortal Kombat style Marvel game in my opinion. We had Marvel vs Capcom but I would like a game just focused on Marvel characters with a cool story mode as well.
Yeah, especially since from what this video shows, there's not a ton that really requires the third person perspective. Some (like Spiderman) might be hard in FPP, but the rest are basically just shooter gameplay with different skins
This is to hype up the Deadpool movie, which will feature Battleworld. It's a world in the Marvel comics where every character across the Marvel Universe ends up in a massive battle with each other.
With this, Concord, Marathon incorporating hero-like characters, and Valve's Deadlock, it's crazy how the gaming trend is now hero shooters again and trying to make the next Overwatch after we already had plenty of that over half a decade ago. Was the extraction shooter concept really too much?
But overwatch style games aren’t that common. It’s paladins, this, deadlock and concord. I think concord is a direct competitor to ow. But this could capture a wider audience because of the marvel heroes. I guess with deadlock being 3rd person that would be a good competitor and it’s by valve. I don’t think marathon is really comparable since it’s extraction and I imagine 3 player teams. I just want this extraction shooter trend to end
@@rybread1346 I think a lot of people are talking about hero shooters as a whole where there are different characters with abilities and grouping them all as one. Strange thing to do considering ow, valorant and apex are 3 very different gameplay loops. But that’s probabl6 why they are talking about marathon as well
Exactly. People complain about everything when it comes to a new game. Yes, issues shouldn’t be ignored, but if you don’t like the game, just don’t play it. Not every game is tailored to every single gamer out there
I have been watching a Genji Rank#1 named Necros play Spider-man, and the dude is incredible. Having said that, not a game I'd play, but it's fun watching people who are good at high skill characters.
He can't do much on genji anyway, there are way better genji players on the eu server that completely destroy him. Alvicates shits on him regularly even though Necros has 10000hrs on Genji. Marvel rivals is his calling because of low level of skill required to play, he can finally do well because on Genji he goes negative then decides to smurf on his low elo accounts lol
its a marvel based game with marvel themed maps and the characters have abilities that make sense to them, for example of course starlord is going to have 2 guns because hes had that his whole marvel timeframe. Also while having unique areas like team up abilities and being able to destroy the environment. People like u are so boring oh my days
LOL Marvel has been around for AGES. Overwatch is basically a copy of the hero medium, which have actually been invented by both DC and Marvel. Go read a damn book, kiddo!
I really like the look of this game. It definitely needs some polish but for an alpha state of the game, I think it looks very promising. I am just tired of playing overwatch and I think this will be good competition
Hey Jack, not sure if you noticed but when you were standing on top of that robot spider thing and tried to grapple to the building, I believe the only reason it didn't work is because of your collision with the bridge above you. Could be wrong, just something I noticed and wanted to mention. Game looks like great fun, hope they don't ruin it before it has a chance to shine, thanks for the video!
Alpha was actually so fun to play, I can't wait for the game to release. I'm getting access to the beta so I'm ready to play more heroes when that comes!
I love how everyone said they got tired of the genre, but they only got tired of seeing them not actually playing them cause there's only 1 alive hero shooter and another that's on life support.
@@pixavier9746Dudes will say this and then play every new battle royale featured on twitch the past 5 years lmao. With hero shooters you have TF2, Overwatch, somewhat Paladins and now Rivals in what, nearly 20 years? As much as OW is probably my favorite game ever, it doesn't have a monopoly on the genre. Hell, most long time players are looking for a breath of fresh air.
@@Later_Nerd I would even argue OW not having competition has led to the huge cuts that happened with the game. Why put more money/effort than needed when you own the market? Feels that way at least...
Pretty original for a hero shooter all things considered. Team up abilities, destructible environments, 3rd person, lots of full on Melee character and abilities. The character choices they have been doing are pretty good. Character’s in this game have abilities from the source material.
I got to try the Alpha too and was really impressed with it. The only issue was my game almost crashing every time Dr. Strange opened up a portal haha.
The usual bullshit. As long as the characters are unlocked automatically after each "season" of bullshit, that's fine by me. Only cosmetics are monetized for the stupid whales
Oh boy, yet ANOTHER gamer complaining about a game they can ignore if they aren’t interested in it but instead choose to project their miserable lives on everyone else!
Suicide squad and the avengers games failed because they were specifically "looter shooters" with very little content and extremely restricted gameplay, not saying this game won't crash and burn but this isn't anything like previous recent hero shooters. Gameplay is significantly better than anything from those games
How many substantial hero shooters are there rrly witha budget like this with an big studio like this with an ip like MARVEL. Hero shooters always have an appeal but so far the only real option has been Overwatch which killed itself so here we are
@@REDACTED__007 I assumed the game was on beta or something, about to be released in a couple of months, etc.. but nope, it's on alpha indeed, there's a long way ahead. And if the game is already looking fun like this as a alpha, the final product has a lot of potential. Role queue, proper balance among characters, improved UI, etc.. it already look more fun than Overwatch (even when the game made sense as a 6v6), the sky is the limit
Everyone hating saying it’s just an OW clone, but OW is absolute fcking dogwater now and dead in the water, so we need something to replace it and there’s honestly no other better contenders rn.
I suspect it won't hold anyone who is still playing Overwatch, but for those who never really played it or fell off that wagon awhile ago due to burn out or Blizzard (like myself) it's definitely worth a look. Their approach to monetization and cosmetics is going to be the make or break though
As someone who fell off of Overwatch once they released the sequel. This is exactly the thing I want to see, sprinkle a little fan pandering and this could be a smash hit. Thanks for the video.
Overwatch went downhill since they put out 2 and did away with loot boxes. The thing that kept me around for a while was working towards unlocking heroes. I like having goals to work towards but with that gone I don’t particularly care to come back. So I’m definitely interested in this game. The art style, unique character designs, and roster all lend themselves well to this game. Asgard looks good. 8:49 That load/transition screen was awesome. And I like the payload.
@fornax4676 they got rid of a bunch of good maps and features too - no more aftermatch, no more Looking for team, no more Hanamura, Volskaya, lunar base, etc.
i was honestly wondering what processor chip and graphics card you use since I'm trying to upgrade from my setup to something else since i overclock in games frequently
Yeah so the reason why your fps lags is the doctor strange portal cause it mirrors what’s on the other end and you can even shoot through it so it’s really laggy and intensive
It looks like something I would definitely play and the destruction aspect of the game is pretty neat. BUT: There are lots of sounds, abilities and even animations that are close to, if not, 1/1 copies from Overwatch. They just jumbled some of them together onto one character (Punisher has Mauga's miniguns, Soldier 76's assault rifle + almost the exact sound, or Wonder has Widowmaker's footsteps and Reaper's shadow ability). I think it's something that would bother me over time, since I would have loved it to be just a tad bit more unique. There's endless possibilites, but they chose to copy and paste such things? I don't know about that. Edit: Even the levels are... Well, not 1/1 copies, but veeeeery "inspired" by Overwatch's levels. I'm thinking, couldn't they have been a bit more creative? Make environments similar to ones in the movies, or other marvel games or such? I think there's a lot more space to innovate some of the features.
From reading the comments it pains me to see that alot of ppl are complaining about the graphics of the game. People, graphics arent whay make a good game. Its the gameplay it provides and the experience. If u only look at a game just for the graphics then thats just wrong. I agree the game looks ok-ish in graphics but its not mobile level. Chill out. The game actually looks fun. Quit judging games without giving thema chance. Smh
This game will kill OW2 if they get the micro transactions right. Not only is it Marvel characters but there’s a ton of characters that can be added to the game and it’s 3rd person so you can see your skins.
This looks like what the multiplayer mode on Avengers should’ve been. Honestly, put an Avengers-like story mode (maybe 6-10 hours long) in this and it could’ve sold for $40-$50.
they are going to focus monetization to selling skins rather than characters. I think itll be similar to smite where you can buy characters or you can grind to unlock them.
I doubt that’s the route they’ll go. What game even monetises abilities, I think black ops did some pay to win stuff back in the day and it flopped. No game does that now
as someone who used to play overwatch 24/7 I'm kinda excited for this one. my only complaint is I'm not a fan of marvel + I don't like the third person pov.
on the topic of the non disparagement agreement, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they didn't even know it was there, its VERY common for lawyers to just copy and paste things like NDAs and really any legal document, that still means they didn't proofread it before giving out keys, which is bad, but its not coming from a place of malice, more so a place of incompetence in the legal team (which is shockingly common)
More games nowadays are getting the Smash Bros treatment. Bringing in different IP's from their catalog is a refreshing change. It has a multiverse type of aspect to it.
I wish this game had its own identity. The art style and visual design of the characters are so unique and cool. Then you get to the gameplay and its just another clone and coming almost a decade late. I really hope they make another game with this style, I'd love to play a marvel mmo or something co-op like helldivers with the same designs.
Being only 3rd person I think was a mistake. Smooth transition between 1st and 3rd could've been so cool, though there is nothing smooth about the gameplay.
Honestly with it being an Overwatch clone and everything. This is probably the wisest they can do with marvel characters. It literally has the term “hero” in “hero-shooter”
As a closed alpha, I really don't hold any performance or balance issues against it, it's the core gameplay that's really being judged. If it were open, or in beta, those would be a concern, I think, but right now this is exactly what an alpha is for.
