😂 they do this everytime, and try to ruin what made my childhood. The best series was the xmen games and ultimate alliance idc what falcon or jake believe
@@sketchy_gorilla4372 yea i can admit the visual tech has made a jump but i was a kid, i was not thinking of plot or map density if it was fun thats all i needed

Funny little story about that Catwoman game. The Best Buy near me had it. When it came out at full price a few copies were bought, I remember there were a lot on the shelves. As time went by the price slowly crept down, but it never seemed to sell. The last time I saw it they had marked it down to .97 cents, less than a dollar. They still had a lot on the shelves then. I would not be surprised to find out that they were buried right next to the E.T. games
@@drewtheunspoken3988 How a show with two grown men wearing tights got so popular in the 1960s I have no idea. The geezers of the time were probably calling them nancies. Now the modern fogeys love that show and hate the hockey-pad boys.
Honestly speaking, Spider-man 3 was actually a really fun game once you get past it's quirks. I would argue it had the best mission structure in any open world Spider-Man game to this day. And the combat was a solid follow up to the systems of Spider-man 2 and allowed for a whole lot more expression, and the swinging (while not as good as Spider-man 2 or even Ultimate) was still really fun to do and encouraged a lot of creative movement with its trick system that generated and retained momentum. Spider-man 3 should have been a way lot worse than it was considering the development hell it was in, but in my opinion it still is a game worth playing. It has a solid gameplay core as well as amazing camp for anyone who is into it. Having both Spider-man 3 and even Edge of Time on a worst game list is criminal considering there are games like The Amazing Spider-man 2 and Spider-man web of fire out on the market.
0:20 - #20 Batman & Robin - This is actually a surprisingly good PS1 game. Back in the day, Batman & Robin stood out as one of the best Batman games, offering something rare for its time: the ability to freely roam a massive city and explore detailed areas. There really wasn't anything else like it. I've heard of Mizzurna Falls, but since it was only released in Japan, I never had the chance to play it. Driver 2 also comes to mind, but while it introduced on-foot mechanics, the game mostly focused on driving, and the on-foot sections felt pretty lackluster.
I wasted a weekend renting and trying to play that terrible game. I couldn't figure out how to fire the grappling hook straight up to go through a hole in the ceiling to proceed. It took the AVGN years later to show me how and it's fucking ridiculous. It felt vindicating to see Rolf struggle with it while simultaneously pissing me off.
Same, that game was insanely difficult. It sucked me in for the vibe and all the seemingly unlockable gadgets but I just could not make progress. So frustrating as an eight-year old kid
@@AnnoyingSquib I’m feeling vindicated by all these testimony’s. For the longest time I thought I just sucked at fighting games but now this game really was third degree crap. It gave me some sort of fighting game PTSD I turned down the opportunity to play fighting games up until the PS4 era.
Not every pre-Arkham game is bad, Falcon. Adventure of Batman & Robin for Genesis & SNES. Batman Returns on Snes. Sun-Tzu. Vengeance. Return of The Joker. (not the Beyond one) These are all excellent games that many people still play today.
@@loonytunescrazy The SNES version is extremely different but it was the BEST Batman game up until Arkham Asylum. A lot of the levels require Batman to use his tools, and even the batmobile level sucked, the riddler boss fight and the gaintlet level make up for it.
He even lowkey swept Transformers:Devastation under the rug… That game is the best Transformers game we have gotten since the High Moon Studios Cybertron game
Yeah, I bought the TMNT game on release. It was a solid 7 outta 10. Good, but not great. I still had a good time with it. The game got delisted and pulled from stores 6 months after release also because they lost the license.
@@abnormalitiesinreality6649That's the confusing part for me. After getting stinkers like Rise of the Dark Spark, Devastation being good was a miracle cause Platinum was on a bad luck streak and Transformers games had plummeted prior
Also, when you wanted to play with another person (friend/sibling) in Batman Forever, the game had 2 modes: Cooperative, where you shared ONE life counter between both characters, meaning you both HAD TO BE MASTERS at the game because if not, you were not getting past the Bank level (which is the 2nd level, btw). Or Competitive, where you had your own life counter, however your attacks would also HURT YOUR PARTNER. Yeah, when I was a kid, I liked and hated this game in equal measure.
No Gotham Knights or Suicide Squad?! I mean, kudos for not jumping into the hate train... then again, they're awful games, haha. And they need to be in a list
Gotham gets WAAAYYYY more hate that it should. It's the literal definition of average. Countless better games, countless worse games. Even in the superhero genre. However, I'd say being as average as GK, is actually *worse* than being as bad as the games on this list. At least they're memorable lmao
@That1DogGuy ah you know what, you're right, tbh. I think what got me most annoyed was how repetitive it was, and also, the legacy of the arkham games behind it kinda raised the bar for them a lot... or Arkham game if we consider only Origins, which was made by the same studio.
@That1DogGuy fact, is one of those many games you clear once and feel like...ok thats over...never playing it again but it was a ok fun at times but a perfect 6/10 good time waster and a one time play not horrible just plain and forgettable pretty sure basically no one will remember it in 10 years 😂 it will be one of those OOOH YEAH THAT GAME I forgot it existed lol
i actually own #13. it's not too bad for it's time, but it's VERY hard. it has ONE saving grace: a exploit in the first level where you play as Gambit, that makes it VERY easy to earn LOTS of extra lives. also, i have a copy of an old comic book where the X-Men had to deal with Arcade, and he put Storm in an underwater area THERE. #8 reminds me of a video by Rerez about how bad it is... one big gripe was the it had NO CONTEXT for ANYTHING. if you hadn't read the comic books that came out shortly before, you would have NO idea who ANY of the other characters are. there's also a place near the end when the ONLY way to progress is to Grapple your way up to a ledge THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE BECAUSE OF THE LOUSY CAMERA. i also have #6. it's not TOO bad, except for a few later nasty parts. one of the worst is a level where you have to escort a truck...THROUGH A SANDSTORM. the weather effects can lag your computer terribly.
Fun fact: Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge was one of my first two Genesis games back in 1992. I was an excited six-year-old... then I played it... then I never played it again...
I can’t lie. I loved this game as a kid. But….I also was around 6. So, of course I didn’t beat the game. I just watched my dad rage at it on Friday nights when we played together. He would give up and then we would play sonic. 😂
@@SteveGameSDG agreed! Most games back then were hard for no reason. Like…why did we only have three lives on a game that we weren’t playing in an arcade? Especially with no saves, or those super annoying 15 character long passwords. 🤦🏾♀️
Ugh, the passwords. I hated having to write those down and eventually losing whatever paper I wrote it on. I'm glad most new versions of those old games have save states now.
@@SteveGameSDG same! That’s the only way I’ll play them too. I used to write the pw down on post it notes and put them in the cd cases. Naughty Dog owes me like 3 hours of my life for accidentally hitting square instead of circle for the OG Crash Bandicoot pwds and having to input the whole thing again. 🙄
I think Falcon just went to a break up, it's the second bitter emotions video. Cause I remember loved Batman and Robin because it got a crazy new investigation system for puzzles, the time limit to solve crimes was not the best thing, I know. But also, the Ninja Turttles are the same but with iris on their eyes, wtf you're talking about? Anyway, he's probably just letting some frustration out in some of this games, we still love you dude!! There's plenty birds in the sky! WISH YOU THE BEST!!
Love falcon ❤ but games like mirrors edge show that using L1 or R1 can be a good button for climbing and jumping i didn't like it at first but its a lot smoother for parkour games in my opinion
I remember playing quite a few of these, and wanting to play a few. Also the Angry Video Game Nerd has played a few of these, and could probably get some ideas for future episodes from this list. You didn’t mention that Superman 64 was supposed to be ported over to the PlayStation. It was in print ads in comics. It got cancelled after the reception of the game release on the N64.
I'm not sure why Falcon questioned whether or not the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were superheroes, because they most certainly are. I'm not sure it was ever a question to begin with.
When I finally got my own NES, that was the first game I rented. I played it for about 2-3 hours, and it was so crappy, I didn’t play it again, even though the rental period lasted 3 days.
@@LetPlaySpidey18 Quite possibly one the worst game ever made. It is #1 in the list for a reason. Ugly skies, short render distance, awful fighting mechanics, flying missions with hoops and some very dated graphics that didn't even look good when it came out.
I actually played the spiderman edge of time on the wii. as a kid I found it pretty fun, until I had a bug that prevented me from continuing the game at the anti venom boss fight. I was furious
Umm everything aside from the Arkham games, the new Spiderman games, Spiderman 2, Origins: Wolverine game, The first Marvel Alliance game, The injustice Games and Hulk Ultimate Destruction. And maybe Superman Returns.
The 2008 Iron Man is actually pretty good on PSP. I played the 360 version for the first time a couple months ago tho, and it's terrible. Idk how the PSP pulled of Iron Man betted than 360 and ps3
The Spiderman & Xmen video game on Super NES was such a torture. You forgot to mention the Gambit level in which you’d instantly died in less than 10 seconds 😂😂😂
In my opinion there is little to no reason to ever make a first person superhero game. Superhero costumes are just so integral to the whole superhero thing.
7:00 Number 17. I’ve found that the PS2 version is superior story wise and feels like a somewhat improvement over its next gen counterpart. Hell they removed the gangs and had a Morbius storyline that tied into the Symbiote. That’s right Morbius’s first videogame appearance. As well as having a super cool skill tree and the Symbiote suit having way cooler features in the PS2 Version.
many of these games i played when i was a kid like 10 years and all of age that time this felt soo great to play as ironman to play as superman even if the game lacked many thing at that time the feeling of becoming a superhero outweighed all negatives and at that age no one would disect a game so much we just play it and enjoy it
Correct me if I'm wrong but neither Batman, nor the Punisher is classed as superhero. Batman is a rich vigilante, and the Punisher is an anti hero. Am I right?
As a kid back in the day, I liked Iron Man X Man O War, and really liked Spider Man 3, the PS2 version. But I guess.. I guess I should leave it for nostalgia. That's the best thing about being a kid, low standards.
WhAAAT!!?! I LOOOVed the '08 Ironman, at least at the time. It also looked soo good to me at the time and also one of the first superhero game that i like, aside from the Spiderman (the one that was set on top of buildings and you save JJJ from Scorpion at the start).
I won't lie, I had fun memories with some of these games, as a kid who could only get and play them years after their release 😅. I played the heck out of Spiderman 3 and the team up with the xmen😂
I actually enjoyed Edge of Time. Not only because it was my newest experience with Miguel Herrera since his intro comic, Spider-Man 2099... but also for the illusion of time-shifting consequences that, to me, was a new concept in gaming.
