AoS has a thing with taking old cliches and just doing them better. Same thing with the Groundhog Day episode from final season, where Daisy had a limited number of attempts to fix things.

+SlothGiraffe Let's be honest, even with a low budget, Smallville still did an extraordinary job. Heck, it's better than Agents of Shield...but who knows, this season has a lot to offer that might make AOS whole a lot better than it was before. But for real, Smallville is better.

+ramdelure Smallville had the budget but back then FX cost more to do and technology wasn't so good. Hard to compare a Tv from the 90's to a Tv in the 2000s. It's a unfair comparison so you cannot compare the shows either

She's spent her whole life searching for her true identity (and is largely defined as a character by that search), it makes senes that she would embrace it, no matter how horrible her parents ended up being.

+OWADesign peopel dont understnad something. the initial episodes HAD to be that way to properly set everything up, give people a feel of the characters and plot and give us what they are now. Its a development setup, its a big risk to do this sort of thing in a show but with patience and time (having enough background support from an existing franchise helps) it pays off much better than alternatives

+Dio Brando I'm sure there will be some sort of Civil War tie-in, but that's not going to be until well into the second half of the season. So I'd be surprised if we see any serious groundwork being laid for it until after they return from the mid-season break. As for the subject of tie-ins in general, The Winter Soldier tie-in worked out really well, but only because they were able to leverage the events of the movie in a way that greatly enhanced the show overall. If they have a good story arc going and the events of Civil War aren't going to help move it along, I'd rather them give Civil War a miss (or as much of a miss as it is possible while existing in the same continuity) then to put what they are doing on hold for an episode or two purely for the sake of doing a tie-in.

+Dio Brando I'm guessing as more and more powered "enchanted", or Inhuman people show up, it'll build up the government tension between them and heroes and suddenly there's a massive accident caused by a hero/powered/inhuman person... same beginning as the comics. Inhumans are going to be the X-Men of the MCU.

+Valkyrie Editing In 'Ultron' they called the Maximoffs 'enhanced'. I'm assuming that once the spread of enhanced people and Inhumans gets out of control is when they enact the Super Registration Act (i.e. Civil War)

+Dio Brando No, The Winter Soldier tie-in didn't save the show. That tie-in was what kept their hands tied to begin with... They had a major plot point that they had to dance around for almost an entire season, just so that it could align with the movie. Once that obstacle was removed, the show became its own thing and that freedom is what caused it to be good.

+Riya Vyas I can only speak from personal experience, but prior to the Winter Soldier cross-over it was a show I only really watched because it was part of the MCU (not that there weren't any good moments back then, just that I can't confidently say I would of stuck with it if it wasn't MCU), when the Winter Soldier cross-over happened it became a show I was legitimately interested in watching for it's own sake, and around the Season 2 mid-season finale it became a show I was truly obsessed with.

I never knew why. I loved it since the beginning. I actually like the first episodes the most. It had the witty buffy comedy and i loved fitsimmons(?).

Well yes and no. Normal ppl would be fine but to become an inhuman, after being exposed to terrigen, you go into sort of a chrysalis and come out of it with altered DNA. So the rock stuff was just the aftermath of a new inhuman. Also the creators confirmed that the released terrigen would not be lethal since the metal stayed at the bottom of the ocean while the crystal dissolved into the water
